Touched by Master's Mercy: My Friend's Story

(Clearwisdom.net) In 1996 I introduced Falun Dafa to a friend. She was very willing to accept it, but she said she was too busy with her job to practice cultivation. Nonetheless she adopted the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance into her heart, and cultivated her xinxing while postponing formal practice until after her retirement.

Several months later, she happily told me this miraculous story: For lunch she turned on the gas flame to warm some rice. She ignited another burner on the stove to boil water. Then she went to the living room to watch TV. She completely forgot what was on the stove, and went back to work.

Returning home from work that afternoon, she suddenly remembered that she had left things on the stove. She saw the burnt rice in the blackened pot with the fire still burning. The water on the stove had boiled over around noon, though, and had extinguished the gas flame. The gas continued to emit and was making sharp sounds. Witnessing the scene, she was stupefied. She immediately feared an explosion, so she went to open the window to let the gas out, but it would not open. She became even more anxious and dazed. As she looked at the pilot flame alight under the rice cooker, she suddenly felt that maybe Teacher's law body was protecting her in this situation. Otherwise, why hadn't an explosion occurred five hours ago? Thinking like this, she quickly switched off the burning flame and then turned on the kitchen fan to pump the gas outside. In fact, her impulsive actions were a recipe for explosion. The quick movement of the lingering gases could have easily ignited. All those who heard about it felt she was extremely fortunate.

She herself felt that she was really lucky to have avoided an explosion that day. On her face and in her words, we could see that it was filled with gratitude to Teacher. I told her, "This is definitely the result of our Teacher's protection. Although you do not perform the exercise movements, you have already cultivated your xinxing according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance. Teacher is already looking after you."

Teacher said, "'The Buddha Fa' is most profound; among all the theories in the world, it is the most intricate and extraordinary science." ("Lunyu") Teacher also wrote, "If you are a true practitioner, our Falun will safeguard you. ... ... What I have said may sound quite inconceivable. You will understand it later as you study further." (Lecture 1, Zhuan Falun) My friend's story fully demonstrates that what Teacher said is true. Teacher is saving all sentient beings with his infinite mercy.
