On September 12, Falun Gong practitioner Zhang Cuiying successfully concluded her art exhibit held in the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall in San Francisco. People continuously visited the art exhibition, which lasted for two days. Professor Li Chengxin of the San Francisco State University hosted the art exhibition that opened on September 11. Mr. Liao Weiping, who is the Taipei economical office deputy chief officer, Mr. Liao Wanfu, who overseas the Chinese affairs committee and is a member of the Democratic Progressive Party, California Senator Mr. Daly and other VIP guests delivered speeches. They praised Zhang Cuiying for her artistic achievement, noble character and strong determination.

Deputy chief officer Liao delivered a speech on behalf of chief officer Li Shiming. He said: "Chinese painting and calligraphy, do not only display beauty on the surface, but also emphasizes the "Qi" [energy matter or vital force] and "De" [morality, virtue] manifested from it. These come from the artist's practice of moral culture in her daily life. Once one achieves the realm of "Heaven and man merged into one," you can naturally show "magnificence" or "even-temper." Mr. Liao said at last: "I believe everyone can feel from Ms Zhang's paintings, her gentle manner, righteousness in seeking justice and her bravery."

Zhang Cuiying described her 8-month detention for simply saying a just word for Falun Gong, and her experiences of having foot shackles put on and being tortured. Everyone was deeply touched. Ms Zhang said she does not hate those policemen because they are forced to do these things and they are also victims of the state sanctioned, and directed terrorism. She expressed that she would use all her efforts to rescue thousands of kind Falun Gong practitioners that are illegally detained, forced to perform hard labor, are mentally maltreated and brutally tortured in China. Many of the people who visited her art exhibition had a common feeling: It is hard to imagine how a person that has suffered so much could draw such peaceful and beautiful paintings, without even a bit of hatred in her heart.
