Persecution Cases against Dafa Practitioners in Lingyuan City, Liaoning Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Tong Cuilian, female, employee of Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company, was laid off after July 20^th, 1999 because she persisted in practicing Falun Dafa. She was released one month after being illegally detained since July 20^th,1999. Since then she was watched and monitored at home. The police often harassed and mentally tortured her with all kinds of methods. She was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution in September 2001. Now she is wanted by the police. There is a warrant out for her arrest with a reward of 30,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China; the rural monthly income is only 200 Yuan, or $23.50].

Zhang Yali, female, a retired employee of Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company, has been illegally watched and monitored at home since July 20^th, 1999. The police often harassed and mentally tortured her with various methods as she persisted in practicing Falun Dafa. She was kidnapped and detained by the police in the winter of 2001. In April 2002 she was kidnapped to the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp and is still being persecuted to this day.

Yu Shufen, female, a former employee of the Lingyuan Textile and Carpentry Mill, was illegally detained by the police for hanging Dafa banners in May 2001, and was illegally sentenced to three years and six months of incarceration in 2002. She was sent twice to Dabei Jail of Shenyang City, Liaoning Province. Now she is illegally detained in Lingyuan City's Detention Center.

Ms. Fan, a former accountant of the Supply and Sales Commune of Chengguan Town of Lingyuan City was forced to leave home in 2000 to avoid further persecution. On a morning in May 2000, seven to eight policemen forcefully kidnapped her to the detention center and as of now she is detained there.

Mr. Wen Xuezhi is a former employee of the Lingyuan Petrol Company. Persons from the Xiaochengzi Township Police Station kidnapped him in April of 2002 for spreading factual materials about Dafa in Xiaochengzi suburb of Lingyuan City. He is now incarcerated in the detention center.

Han Jicheng, male, a Dafa practitioner from Hebei Province, was forced to leave home to avoid further persecution. He was kidnapped in April 2002 by officials from the Xiaochengzi Township Police Station for spreading factual Dafa materials in his area. He is now being held at the detention center.

Luu Dawei, male, employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company, was laid off after July 20^th, 1999. In 1999, he was illegally sentenced to three years' forced labor re-education after going to Beijing to appeal. He was then detained and sent into the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp and has suffered all kinds of torture. Because he firmly practices Dafa, he was later transferred to the Fuxin Forced Labor Camp and then to the Jinzhou Huludao City Forced Labor Camp where he was treated inhumanely. He went on hunger strike for more than 30 days to resist persecution and wasn't released until his life was in danger. Four months after he returned home, in May 2002, the police kidnapped him again. He was tortured for several days and was then sent to the Lingyuan Mental Hospital for further persecution. Together with three other practitioners, Luu Dawei jumped off from the third floor of the mental hospital to escape from the vicious persecution. As of now his whereabouts remain unknown.

Jia Qinggui, male, is a senior engineer of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company. He was illegally sentenced to forced labor re-education for going to Beijing to appeal after July 20^th, 1999. Ever since, he has been detained in Chaoyang City's Forced Labor Camp and the Fushun War Criminal's Detention Center and has suffered all kinds of tortures. He was not released until 2001 when his leg was broken and he could not take care of himself.

Du Shiming, male, an engineer of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company was illegally detained for going to Beijing to appeal after July 20^th, 1999. He went to Beijing to appeal again in 2000 and was sentenced to forced labor re-education, and suffered all kinds of tortures in the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp. He was released in the winter of 2001, and was again illegally detained by the police just less than ten days after he returned home. He is still being illegally detained.

Liu Zhifu, male, is a senior engineer of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company. He was illegally detained for more than two months after going to Beijing to appeal in 2000, and was fined, then laid off. He was arrested in October 2001 for writing an open letter to the leaders of the company to validate Dafa. Now he has been illegally sentenced to six years of confinement.

Hou Yanshuang, male, is an employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company. He was arrested for making truth-clarifying materials. The police also issued an arrest warrant for his wife, Li Chunxia, promising a reward for her capture. His 13-year-old child is alone at home with no one to look after him/her. The security department authorities from the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company confiscated more than 90,000 Yuan cash, a computer, a printer and tricycle from his home and a piece of property from his estate. Hou Yanshuang has now been illegally sentenced to 14 years of confinement.

Wang Jian, male, is an employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company. He was arrested after going to Beijing to appeal after July 20^th, 1999 and sent to the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp, then released in the winter of 2001. In May 2002 he was kidnapped again and is now once more detained at the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

Yang Xiufan, male, is a lecturer of the Lingyuan Communist Party Institute. He was illegally sent to forced labor re-education after going to Beijing to appeal in 2000. He suffered all kinds of tortures in the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp, including being beaten so viciously that his ribs were broken. He was released in the winter of 2001. In April 2002, he was illegally sent to forced labor re-education for explaining the facts of Dafa to the head of the local "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. After going on a hunger strike for 18 days that endangered his life, he was released. This August the police arrested him again and sent him to a forced labor camp.

Zhao Baiyun is a female employee of the Lingyuan City Real Estate Department. She was sent to the notorious Masanja Forced Labor Camp for going to Beijing to appeal after July 20^th, 1999 and suffered all kinds of tortures. She was released in the winter of 2001 but was kidnapped again in January 2002 and once more detained at the Masanja Forced Labor Camp.

Zhang Yajuan, female, is an employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company. She was kidnapped when spreading Dafa factual materials and is detained in the Lingyuan Detention Center.

Li Baozhen, male, is a supervisor of the Bafangjian Police Station, Lingyuan City Police Department. He was deprived of the opportunity for promotion to chief of police for his persistence in practicing Dafa. He was illegally sentenced to six years of incarceration in October 2001.

Liang Lijun, female, is the owner of a hair salon. She was illegally sentenced to 3-1/2 years for going to Beijing to appeal and validating Dafa in 2000. She was illegally detained in the Dabei Jail in Shenyang Province.

Huo Dong, male, is a villager of Chengbei Village, Chengguan Town, Lingyuan City. He went to Beijing many times to appeal and validated Dafa. He was detained and later was sent to the Qinghe Mental Hospital for persecution. He was not released until his relatives tried all the possible means at their disposal to rescue him.

Zheng Chunyan, an employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company was illegally sentenced to 10 years. Her husband was laid off and they have no other source of income. Their child was left with no one to look after him/her.

The couple Han Liguo and Li Chunling, employees of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company, were illegally sentenced to six and four years, respectively. Their child is now left unattended.

Guo Xiaomei, an employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company was illegally sentenced to six years. Her husband was laid off. Their child is very young and has no one to attend to him/her.

Wang Hailin, an employee of Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company was illegally sentenced to seven years. His wife is unemployed and has no income.

Han Ximin, an employee of the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company is still illegally detained in the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp, ever since he went to Beijing to appeal.

Han Xi'ao, an employee of the Lingyuan Xiangdong Chemistry Plant was arrested again and is suffering from persecution in the Chaoyang Forced Labor Camp.

Other Dafa practitioners from the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company who were forced to leave home to avoid further persecution include: Liu Zhuang couple, Li Zhanyuan, Wang Yali, and others.

Beginning August 12, the Lingyuan Municipal Government started the mental persecution against Dafa practitioners on a much larger scale. They forced practitioners to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement" [A statement that declares that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong, guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again to associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners]; otherwise they would be arrested. On instigation from the local "610 Office," the authorities in the Lingyuan Steel and Iron Company have held a brainwashing class since June this year. So far, this class has persecuted over a dozen Dafa practitioners. The criminal personnel of the brainwashing class include Li Zhanyong, Ma Zhiming, Han Yaohui and others.
