The Shandong Province Legal Education Center located in Wangcun, Zibo City, Shandong Province is an illegal brainwashing center. Behind the label of "legal education," illegal activities of human rights violations, extortions, and persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners take place. This is one of the leading brainwashing centers in Shandong Province, known for its cruelty and wickedness. It is "sponsored" by the Shandong Provincial Forced Labor Camp, and it has been found out that all the center employees were recruited among forced labor camp guards. Falun Gong practitioners sent in from all across the province are held there. The brainwashing center has engaged in brainwashing and mentally persecuting practitioners for an extended period of time.

Since September 1999, Falun Dafa practitioners have continually been sent to a detention center in the downtown area of a city in Southwestern China. Resisting the evil persecution, these practitioners have persevered in studying Dafa and practicing the Falun Gong exercises. At the same time, practitioners have compassionately clarified the facts about Falun Gong in order to help people, and as a result the attitudes of the police officers in the detention center have changed. Officers have become sympathetic toward Falun Gong, and it is now very rare that any beatings of practitioners take place. When leaders from supervising organizations come to inspect, other people held in custody have to stand up and shout, "Greetings to our leaders!" Dafa practitioners instead take these opportunities to shout, "Falun Dafa is good!"

One day when an interrogator stepped out of a certain room, the police officer on guard - who can tell right from wrong - lowered his voice and told the Falun Dafa practitioner who was being interrogated, "You have all been unfairly mistreated!"

Huang Liping, female, the head of the Hanyang District Brainwashing Center in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is the Hanyang District Procuratorate director. In her desperate pursuit of power and financial gain, she devoted herself to persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners on behalf of Jiang and his clique. Hiding behind a benign fa ade, she gathered and prepared a list of Falun Dafa practitioners in the area and submitted the list to the Hanyang District "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. Conspiring with Director Xu, head of the Hanyang District "610 Office," they went out of their way to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners in order to be rewarded and promoted by higher authorities.

Prior to the commencement of the 16^th Party Congress, the police in Songjiang Town and local officials tried to arrest Falun Dafa practitioners from all over town and throw them into the brainwashing center. The police and officials smashed and kicked open doors and windows to break into practitioners' homes. Over a dozen people were thus kidnapped. However, the people in the neighborhood have shown their anger regarding these activities. As a result of practitioners' effort to clarify the truth of Falun Gong by exposing the wicked nature of the persecution, the brainwashing sessions were called off just a few days later.

Falun Dafa practitioners Zhang Youfu and Zhang Xiaojing (female) are from the Baiyin District, Baiyin City, Gansu Province. On their way back from clarifying the truth and distributing materials, they were arrested by police. After several months' detention, in September they were each given illegal forced labor terms of three years.

Duan Qiuzhe, female, was a Ph.D. candidate at the Southwestern Petroleum Institute in Chengdu City, Sichuan Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in October 1997, after which all her illnesses, including stomach problems, healed. In October 1999, she was arrested in Beijing and expelled from both the educational institution and the Party. She was then sent back to her hometown in Hebei Province, where she was brainwashed in January 2000. The Chinese Central Television Station later broadcast her betrayal of Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance. Several other newspapers reported her case as well. She was readmitted by the school in March 2000.

Her stomach illness came back to her in 2002. Later, it turned into stomach cancer. She went to Shanghai for treatment but died in October 2002 at age 31. She has become yet another victim of Jiang Regime's persecution and brainwashing.

Xie Xianzhi, a retired teacher from the Southwestern Petroleum Institute, was unlawfully detained in October 1999. In July 2000, she was sentenced to one year of forced labor "re-education" for returning to Beijing a second time. Late at night on May 27, 2002, the police came to her home to arrest her, and she was forced to stay away from her home. Along with some other Falun Dafa practitioners, she was arrested at the end of August 2002 in Chengdu. She is being illegally held in the Anqing Detention Center in Pi County, Sichuan Province.

Han Guangrong is a Falun Dafa practitioner from Xicheng District, Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. She went to Beijing twice in 1999, and was sentenced to two years of forced labor "re-education". She was held in the Nanmusi Women's Forced Labor Camp in Zizhong County, Sichuan Province and brutally persecuted; nonetheless, she remained steadfast in her belief. After her term was up, she went back home to continue her benevolent deeds of helping others. She was arrested at home on the evening on May 27, 2002, and has been held in a detention center ever since.

Falun Dafa practitioner Li Jianhou is from Nanchong City, Sichuan Province. After being detained in July 2000 for practicing the Falun Gong exercises in Tiananmen Square, because Li was distributing materials that tell the facts about Falun Gong, he was unlawfully sentenced to one and a half years in a forced labor camp in spring of 2001. Li was arrested at home in early June 2002 and has since been held in the detention center.
