Zhengzhou City Human Resources Bureau Director Zhang Kexuan and Over 20 Other Practitioners Held in Wanqing-Shanzhuang Brainwashing Center

Approximately 20 steadfast Falun Gong practitioners were recently detained in the Wanqing-Shanzhuang Brainwashing Center, which is located close to Xiliu Lake in the western suburb of Zhengzhou City. The currently known practitioners' names are: Zhang Kexuan, 50, Director of the Human Resources Bureau of Zhengzhou City; He Sanpu, Bureau Cadre from a newspaper company in Henan Province; Quan Peijun, 40, worker from the Shangjie District Aluminum Plant; Xu Xiaowu, worker from the Xinzheng City Cigarette Manufacturing Plant; Dong Changlan, female, 60, employee of the Zhengzhou Theater; Chen Zengping, female, 50; and Yan Jing, 30, primary school teacher.

Practitioner Dong Changlan has held a hunger strike for more than 80 days. She was sent to the hospital emergency room on one occasion and was then returned to the brainwashing class. She is currently still on a hunger strike and her declining health situation is urgent.

After 2 years of detention in a labor camp, practitioner He Sanpu was returned to a brainwashing class on August 23, 2002. When the class started, he went on a hunger strike for 7 days to protest the illegal detention. In October, he held another hunger strike. His wife, Zhang Hanwen, who was detained in the Shibalihe Women's Labor Camp, had her leg broken by vicious guards in June 2002 during a beating, which was to punish her for holding a hunger strike. She began the hunger strike after the labor camp broadcasted defaming language against Dafa and Teacher.

Practitioner Xu Xiaowu recently escaped from the brainwashing class.

Li Shuben, 60, a retired agent from Zhongyuan Police Station, was re-hired to torture Falun Gong practitioners. He is extremely vicious and has force-fed practitioners many times. He is known for standing on practitioners' legs to torture them.

Han Hongtao was originally the Assistant Instructor for Brigade #5 of the Baimiao Labor Camp, Zhengzhou City. His criminal activities were exposed many times on the Clearwisdom website. He continues to persecute Falun Gong practitioners in brainwashing classes.

Solemn warning to criminal police agents Li Shuben and Han Hongtao: Good is rewarded with good while evil is met with evil. This is a universal, cosmic principle. These principles don't permit you to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Therefore you are sure to be punished by human and cosmic laws.

On November 28, 2002, practitioners from Dengfeng City, Henan Province were illegally sentenced to labor camp terms because they distributed truth-clarifying materials. They are: Geng Lingzhi, female; Wu Liping, female; and Qu Zhichao, male.

On September 18, 2002, Practitioner Sun Haiqing (female) from Gouzhao Township in Zhongyuan District of Zhengzhou City was kidnapped from her home. In late November she was illegally sentenced to a 1-year term in the Shibalihe Women's Labor Camp.
