Dafa practitioner Mi Ruijing from Beijing had to live in exile to avoid persecution. He was fired from his job because of his steadfast belief in Falun Dafa. When he distributed truth-clarifying materials, he was arrested and unlawfully detained at Chaoyang District Detention Center in Beijing. At the beginning of January 2003, he had an onset of abdominal pain, but the jail hospital doctor just forced him to take a pain-killer. He had not had anything to eat or drink for several days until he was sent to the hospital. Later, it was heard from a doctor in the jail hospital that, "He was dying. He was sent back home because of his gastric perforation and infected abdomen." His current situation is unknown.

On the morning of January 10, 2003, when Dafa practitioner Ms. Hu Baochun and Ms. Jiang Yuqing from Huludao City, Liaoning Province distributed truth-clarifying materials on a bus heading for Suizhong County, a plainclothes police officer reported them. Policemen stopped the bus at Shahousuo Road in Xingcheng County. The policemen dragged Hu Baochun and Jiang Yuqing off the bus with their heads being pressed down harshly, forcibly packed them into a police car and then directly sent them to a detention center. They confiscated about 300 Yuan, Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials from these two practitioners. Furthermore, in order to find out their names and addresses, the policemen of Suizhong County interrogated them torturously. Three days later, the two practitioners were sent to Huludao City's Detention Center. Jiang Yuqing was later released. Hu Baochun has been on a hunger strike since her arrest and is now illegally detained at Huludao City's Forced Labor Camp.

In May 2002, policemen in Suizhong County used all kinds of illegal means to forcibly send Dafa practitioners to brainwashing classes, and Dafa practitioners Mr. Yang Jiangwei and Mr. Liang Guoman were again sentenced to three years of forced labor.

In October 2002, under instructions from Huludao City's "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.], policemen in Suizhong County again unlawfully arrested Dafa practitioners and sent them to a brainwashing class. They had planned to arrest 29 Dafa practitioners, but only arrested 14. This happened because some local kind policemen and leaders in some counties and villages who knew the truth didn't follow persecution orders from their superiors, which effectively protected local Dafa practitioners.

On December 15, 2000, Nanchang People's Court sentenced Mr. Chen Jian, a 32-year- old Dafa practitioner, to three years of imprisonment. After he was in jail he was deluded by the evil, but on February 5, 2002, during a lecture meeting at the prison, he announced in public that the "four statements"[promising not to practice Falun Gong, stating regret over practicing in the past, declaring separation from Falun Gong, and denouncing Falun Gong] he had written were void and he would steadfastly cultivate in Dafa.

On the morning of November 11, 2002, he broke through the surveillance area set by the Administration Section of the Yuzhang Prison and told all persons in the yard of the prison the truth of Falun Dafa. The evils were very frightened. On December 3, when he should have been released, policemen from Bayi Village's Police Precinct in Nanchang County directly transferred him to Nanchang City's Forced Labor Camp for three years of forced labor.

Since November 2002, policemen from Jianping County, Liaoning Province have been relentlessly searching for and arresting practitioners. They confiscated machinery that cost millions of Yuan [200 Yuan is the average monthly income in rural areas of China; in urban areas it is 500 Yuan], Dafa books and truth-clarifying materials. Over a dozen practitioners were detained. It was said that during the Spring Festival, practitioners would be sentenced to long-term imprisonment.

On January 8, 2003, when Mr. Xu Zhaohui was working at Wuhan City's Transportation Factory, officials from the factory's Security Department took with them several persons from Xujiapeng Street Office, Wuchang District, Wuhan City to harass Mr. Xu, though many employees are busy working at that time. They left after Mr. Xu reasoned with them. The next day, the vicious ruffians from Xujiapeng Street Office came to the factory again with the detention certificate issued from Wuchang District's Political and Judiciary Committee and local the "610 Office." They forcibly took Mr. Xu Zhaohui to Wuchang District's Brainwashing Class.

In November 2002, practitioners Mr. An Lixin and Mr. Shao Zhongye, who were illegally detained at Dandong City's Labor Camp in Liaoning Province, were locked up in an iron cage because they wrote notes to labor camp officials to validate Dafa. An Lixin was locked in the cage for over a month before he was released, while Shao Zhongye has been locked over a month as of now and is still not released. Last summer, as Shao Zhongye refused to write the "three statements" and he was very determined in Dafa cultivation, policemen from the labor camp shocked him with electric batons for several hours within two days. In addition, a policeman severely kicked his back. Since then, Shao Zhongye's health has been very poor. He cannot straighten his back any more and cannot sit. He can only squat and lie down.

More than 20 practitioners are detained in this labor camp.

During the beginning of January, a red-painted sign reading "Falun Dafa is Good" appeared on billboards along the several kilometer long main street in a city of China. The similar sign also appeared on the billboard outside of the provincial government buildings. Although policemen covered the signs with white paint, the red characters were still visible.

Around the 16^th National Party Congress, Shenzhou City's "610" Office personnel, headed by Yin Yuzhen, arrested Dafa practitioners everywhere.

Policemen from Tangfeng Township's Judicatory Precinct took away Dafa practitioners Mr. Zhao Chanyuan and Mr. Zhao Shuzan when they were working at home, and sent them to Shenzhou City's Brainwashing Class for brutal brainwashing. Zhao Shuzan had just been bailed out for hospitalization two months prior from Shijiazhuang City's Forced Labor Camp.

Dafa practitioner Ms. An Xiaoling from Dajia Village, Bingcao Township was also taken from home to a brainwashing class by Shenzhou City's "610 Office" persons. She has not been released yet.

Ye Zeng, female, in her twenties, had been practicing Falun Dafa for a period of time. She used to be a good practitioner who was willing to sacrifice and be strict with herself. After July 20^th, 1999, she immediately participated in Fa-rectification activities. She was arrested seven times during the five months from July 20 to December 1999, in Beijing City, Hankou City and Jiujiang County. She resisted the vicious persecution every time, didn't tell her name, staged hunger strikes and returned to the Fa-rectification current in a noble and dignified manner. Meanwhile she even attended the news conference held in October 1999 in Beijing and was preparing to attend the Fa-conference to be held in December 1999 in Guangzhou.

While preparing for the Guangzhou Fa-conference, Ye and other fellow practitioners were arrested. This time she told her name and address. Soon after she was sent to a local detention center. As she refused to give up practicing Dafa, she was sent to a women's forced labor camp before the Spring Festival of 2000.

Her father is a wholesaler and constantly "bribed" the guards in the forced labor camp for her and brought her greetings from her fiancé who is a jail guard in Jiujiang City. Compared to other practitioners, she didn't suffer much physical torture, but one day she said to a fellow practitioner in the same cell, "I probably won't pass this test." The practitioner worried very much about her, and talked to her many times hoping she would insist on practicing. She didn't say anything, but before long she succumbed to the pressure and wrote out a statement to slander Dafa on her own initiative. Shortly after, she couldn't help doing things involuntarily, as police and personnel from the Political and Judiciary Systems took her everywhere to brainwash Dafa practitioners, one place today, another place tomorrow. She carefully read Teacher's articles that were brought in by practitioners and secretly transcribed them, but she was unable to control herself. In March 2000, she was released ahead of time but she didn't regain freedom as the vicious personnel constantly took her to commit crimes against Dafa.

In mid April 2000, she got married. Unfortunately, soon after the marriage she got a fever and started to behave abnormally. Her family members thought she had mental problems. Following a check-up the doctors refuted that but couldn't find the cause of her symptoms. She then went into a deep coma and existed in a vegetative state. In May, she began to shed tears incessantly. In mid May, dying, she left her family members with tears. During this period, she didn't open her eyes once or say a word.

Her death was caused by the high pressure from the brainwashing methods carried out by authorities that follow Jiang's political scoundrel regime. At present, there are still some people living in the abyss of wrong understandings. We hope they can wake up as soon as possible.
