A Non-Practitioner's Commentary: By Persecuting Falun Gong, the Jiang Regime Shows its Guilty Conscience

(Clearwisdom.net) On January 9, two high-level media in Beijing launched
a fierce attack on Falun Gong in Taiwan. Xinhua News Agency published a report
entitled "Shady Deals between 'Falun Gong' Underground Organization and the
Separatist Force in Taiwan." At the same time, the People's Daily also
published a commentator's article with similar contents. When I first looked at
these startling headlines, I thought something huge must have happened, but when
I read on, I could not help laughing.
What do they mean by "shady deals?" In Taiwan, Falun Gong is free to hold
public activities, and it is nothing out of the ordinary if Falun Gong
practitioners from Mainland contact the local practitioners when they come to
visit Taiwan, including exchanging information and materials and doing the
exercises together. None of these can be labeled as "shady deals." As for the
materials, they are readily available any place around the world where there are
Falun Gong practitioners [and on Falun Gong websites] Why is it that
something so common elsewhere becomes a "shady deal" in China? Why is it that
they call Falun Gong practitioners doing the exercises "underground" or an
"underground organization?" The reason Falun Gong practitioners do the exercises
"underground" is very simple -- they are forced to do the exercises in secrecy
because of the brutal persecution imposed on them by the Party (the CCP). As
there is no problem with Falun Gong anywhere else in the world except for China,
then this shows precisely that it is the CCP itself that is "shady." Being such,
the CCP can reveal the "shady deals" of Falun Gong today and, in turn, can also
write articles about the "shady deals" of the underground Christian religion
tomorrow.
What is worthy of notice is not how the CCP reveals the "shady deals" of
Falun Gong, to the extent that they even deliberately fabricate charges by
saying that they have found certain amounts of gunpowder when searching Falun
Gong practitioners' homes, which clearly indicates their desire to falsely
accuse Falun Gong of being "terrorists" to further justify their persecution.
But the fact is that they link Falun Gong with the pro-independence forces in
Taiwan, in an attempt to increase the "crimes" of Falun Gong and to find more
excuses for their persecution. In fact, Falun Gong practitioners in Taiwan do
not distinguish among themselves whether one is for unification or independence
[as Falun Gong holds no political agend or aspirations], and yet Beijing
only singles out the "separatist force." Doesn't it show that Beijing has some
ulterior motives?
Soon after its 16th National Party Congress, the CCP rushed into
criticizing Falun Gong in stern terms, which shows precisely that the CCP is
fearful of Falun Gong. Jiang defied world opinion to continue to retain his
position as Chairman of the CCP's Military Committee. His forceful push to have
Article 23 of the Basic Law enacted in spite of the strong opposition from the
Hong Kong people as well as the serious concerns of Western countries, and the
placement of his trusted follower Zhou Yongkang into the Politburo and the
Ministry of Public Security all indicate that Jiang is fighting his last-ditch
struggle in a feeble state. The reason why Jiang is so afraid of Falun Gong is
because the CCP under Jiang' leadership has become corrupt and degenerate and
the general public does not have much faith in his "three stresses" and " three
representations." Therefore the CCP is worried that "Truthfulness Compassion
Tolerance" upheld by Falun Gong will replace their false reasoning and theories
in the hearts of the people. Seeing that Falun Gong is indestructible, Jiang has
become even more antagonistic towards it. The trouble is that Jiang is already
76 years old, and who, amongst the leaders, would like to continue to take the
blame for him?
