World Journal: Taiwan's Health Bureau to Analyze Results of Survey Showing Health Benefits of Practicing Falun Gong
January 25, 2003 (Clearwisdom.net) On January 24, Mr. Twu Shiing-Jer, the Director of
Taiwan's Health Bureau indicated that the Health Bureau intends to collaborate
with Falun Gong and conduct a survey to determine the relationship between the
practice of Falun Gong and reduced use of health insurance. Twu made the above statement on January 24 at a press conference for
reporters from Taipei Culture and Economics Office in Washington, D.C. When asked about a survey that showed practitioners in Taiwan using
significantly less health insurance after they practiced Falun Gong, Twu replied
that he knew that Falun Gong had done a survey, and said that the Health Bureau
also planned to collaborate with Falun Gong practitioners. It has asked Falun
Gong to provide a detailed list of practitioners and their health records in
order to analyze the data. If the statistics show that Falun Gong is indeed
beneficial to health and decreases the utilization of health insurance, this
would clearly establish its worthiness to be promoted.
