Evil Deeds Incur Karmic Retribution in Huangmei County, Hubei Province

[Editors' Note: In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, "Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance." The universe will reward actions that are in harmony with this principle, while actions such as beating, torturing and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.]

Zhang Kechang, male, Caishan town, is a retired cadre from Huangmei County. He had once practiced Dafa, but since the persecution of Dafa began, against his conscience he has slandered Dafa on many different occasions in the county's government units. He beat Dafa practitioners many times and went to the police station and the "610 office" [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches] to report on Dafa practitioners. This person met his karmic retribution in 2001. He was knocked down in the street by a motorcycle. His collarbone was broken, and the hospital had to put a reinforcing steel plate and screw to fix it. It was just like wearing an iron harness. At the end of the year his eldest son was diagnosed with stomach cancer and died in 2002. One person's evil deeds indeed have affected his entire family.

Dong Zhongxiong, male, was the chief of the Political and Security Section of Huangmei County's Public Security Bureau from 1999 to 2001. He constantly slandered Dafa and relentlessly oppressed Dafa practitioners. Many times he had cruelly beaten Dafa practitioners in the detention centers, instructed and organized forced feeding to persecute practitioners and tortured practitioners during interrogation. He unlawfully sent 13 practitioners to forced labor camps, and imprisoned hundreds of practitioners. He detained Dafa practitioners as long as 10 months. When he became the head of the Huangmei Township police station just for a few months, he covered up a crime committed by one of his subordinates and also committed many crimes himself. He was reported to the authorities, and as a result he was fired from his job and expelled from the Party. His wife also suffered from malignant uterine cancer. Heavenly principles do not allow for crimes to be committed without retribution. He not only met his karmic retribution for his evil deeds but his family was also affected.

Chen Ming, male, director of the Xiaochi town Public Security Sub-bureau, slandered Dafa and relentlessly persecuted Dafa practitioners. This year Chen Ming, accompanied by officers from the Lushan police sub-station of Jiujiang City, persecuted Dafa practitioner Gui Xunhua to death and sentenced 7 Dafa practitioners to forced labor camps. They also illegally gave one practitioner a harsh sentence. He tried to force Dafa practitioners to write the "Three Letters" [promising not to practice Falun Gong, stating regret over practicing in the past, declaring separation from Falun Gong and denouncing Falun Gong], and forcibly and illegally detained Dafa practitioners and sent them to brainwashing centers. He has now met his karmic retribution. He was reported to have embezzled a large sum of money. He has now been detained and is awaiting the verdict.

Lu Haiao, male, deputy director of Xiaochi town Public Security Sub-bureau, has brutally beaten Dafa practitioners many times. He robbed several tens of thousands of Yuan [Chinese currency, the monthly salary for an average Chinese urban worker is about 500 Yuan] from Dafa practitioners. He has even beaten Dafa practitioners' family members. He has now met his karmic retribution; he was reported for embezzling large amounts of money and has already been sentenced to prison.

Hu Meilin, female, was the political instructor in Xiaochi town's Public Security Sub-bureau from1999 to 2001. Since July 20, 1999, she has viciously persecuted Dafa practitioners, slandered Dafa, directed and participated in the persecution of Dafa practitioners. She unlawfully sent Falun Gong practitioners to brainwashing centers, blackmailed practitioners for large sums for daily necessities. She also tried to force Falun Gong practitioners to write the "Three Letters." She was demoted at the end of 2001.

Since July 20, 1999, the secretary of Political and Judicial Committee of Huangmei county, Hubei province, Liu Ping, female, has done her utmost to persecute Dafa practitioners. Under her leadership, the police station of this county was responsible for the death of one Dafa practitioner, 18 practitioners were illegally sent to forced labor camps and 3 practitioners received heavy sentences. More than 10 practitioners were forced to leave their families behind to become destitute and homeless to avoid further persecution. Thousands of Dafa practitioners' homes were illegally ransacked; a few hundred practitioners were unlawfully imprisoned and detained. There are numerous cases of practitioners being extorted by authorities and forced to pay ransoms and large sums of money. At the end of June of this year, Liu Ping's son ran away in fear of punishment for a crime he committed when he learned the authorities were waiting for him.
