Two Practitioners Steadfastly Defend Dafa in Court

(Clearwisdom.net) On December 4, 2002, the Legal Division in Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province held a closed trial of Dafa practitioners Wang Xiling and Fu Guanmin and arbitrarily sentenced them to two year's prison term without any legal basis. This trial was conducted in secret. The family members of these practitioners and their work units were not notified. They knew nothing about when, where, and how the trial would be conducted.

Both Wang Xiling and Fu Guanmin were teachers in Yongxing Central Elementary School, Kaijiang County, Sichuan Province. They told the students stories of how to be good people according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance. They enriched their student's mind with the beauty of Dafa. They were arrested on May 14, 2002 following a denunciation by a student's parent who did not know the truth about the persecution. The local government further forced several people including the principal, assistant principal, and director of studies to resign, accept a salary reduction, or to relocate to schools in rural villages. Wang Xiling's husband was removed from his position as director of studies and his salary was decreased by two levels. Fu Guanmin's husband has been suffering from cirrhosis of the liver for many years and totally relies on his wife to take care of him. Following Fu Guanmin's arrest, his cirrhosis deteriorated quickly because he lost his caretaker. Now, he is struggling for his life. These persecutions have made the affected persons as well as other local people feel injustice and anger.

Upon learning the news of the trial, some practitioners came to the court on the trial date. The court officials were left staring in surprise as practitioners peacefully and firmly entered the court, sat down in the visitor seats, and sent forth righteous thoughts with upright hands. The two practitioners remained righteous and dignified throughout of the entire trial process. They exposed the evildoings and lies of Jiang's regime to all the people in the court. They solemnly proclaimed that to be good person according to the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is not a sin, than cultivation of Dafa is not a sin, and freedom of belief is not a sin. The prosecutors and judges, who were at a loss for words, read a previously prepared verdict. The righteousness and dignity of the practitioners greatly frightened the people present. Even the ferocious court police paid respect to practitioners after the trial. Everyday people who attended the trial admired (the practitioner's courage).

The trial lasted for one day. During the trial, the court spread several rumors to the effect that the trial would be changed to a different date in an attempt to induce Dafa practitioners to leave the court. Dafa practitioners realized all their attempts. The number of practitioners attending the trial did not decrease, instead, more and more practitioners came to the court. The practitioners formed one body and sent forth righteous thoughts simultaneously. The evil forces that were controlling peoples' minds were greatly weakened. None of the judges dared to look straight at Dafa practitioners. Many legal officials present felt dizzy and constantly pressed against their temples with their hands. Often, they forgot to follow the procedures because they wanted to end the trial as soon as possible so that they could flee the court.

Although the two practitioners were each sentenced to two years of imprisonment, the exposure of the evil, the clarification of the fact of the persecution to the people in the court, and the mighty virtue displayed by the practitioners have deeply taken root in the hearts of all the people in the court.
