A Story From My Ancestors

(Clearwisdom.net) Teacher said in Zhuan Falun that,

"Good or evil comes from a person's spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences" ("Upgrading Xinxing" in Lecture Four).

This heavenly rule showed its power in countless circumstances during Dafa practitioners' cultivation, and also occasionally appeared in ordinary people's society.

One Dafa practitioner encountered severe car accidents several times and was not injured once, due to our Master's merciful protection. She told us a story that happened to her family a long time ago before her cultivation:

My grandfather and one of his best friends were doing business together a long time ago. One day when they passed by a village driving their carriage, they saw an elderly man looking after a little boy at the entrance of the village. They got out of the carriage and walked to the village holding onto the horses with their hands in order to avoid any accident. Even though they were extra careful, the little boy suddenly ran underneath the carriage and was killed! They felt terribly regretful and asked the boy's grandfather what should they do to compensate. [Note: A long time ago, there was no modern insurance or court system in China] After carrying the boy's body back home and putting him into bed, the grandfather told them to leave, saying he did not want to delay their business. They refused and said they had to do something about it, however, the grandfather insisted on them leaving. Finally they left.

After my grandfather and his friend went back home, they could not stop thinking about the accident and the elderly man's great virtue. Several days later, they decided to go back to the village and do something for the family. When approaching the village entrance, they were shocked by what they saw: the elderly man was still there, watching the same boy play! The boy was alive again!

Later they learned after they left that day, the grandfather stayed with the boy from morning till dusk. In the afternoon when the boy's mother came home to feed the boy, the grandfather told her the boy just fell asleep and not to wake him up so soon. Thinking it was reasonable, the mother went back to field to work. At dusk, when the grandfather was walking back and forth in the courtyard, he heard the boy's cry inside. He rushed into the room, took the boy from bed with tears running down his face, "My boy, you slept for such a long time. Grandpa finally got you back!"

My grandfather and his friend were very happy to hear such a story. Since then, my grandfather paid more attention to doing good deeds and being nice to others. He often told his family and others about this true story, and left a family rule with us: No matter what happened, we should not blame others; no matter how busy we are, we should help others. My grandfather passed away when I was five, so my father told me this story.

After getting married, I had three children. One day when my youngest boy was only three years old, there was a merchant that came to our village exchanging wheat flour and other food for rice. The horses suddenly bolted out of control and crushed my son under the front wheels of the carriage. After we rescued our boy, he said he had terrible pain in his legs. My husband and I did not blame the merchant at all, nor did we request any compensation from him like some of our neighbors suggested. After a while, my boy could walk by himself. I told the merchant, "The boy is all right. This is good for you, and good for us too." That merchant deeply appreciated us. After my cultivation of Dafa, I realized these two incidences both showed us the heavenly rule of "good or evil comes from a person's spontaneous thought."

The reason I share these stories is to tell everyone that everything written in Zhuan Falun is true; every word and every sentence.
