Female Falun Dafa practitioners Wei Fengju, Dai Suli and Wang Yuling were arrested by the police one or two years ago and sentenced to two-three years of imprisonment. Several months ago, it was said that the three of them had already been tortured to death. Because of the tight news blackout, it has not been confirmed.

Former Deputy Chief Procurator, Chief of Judicial Bureau and Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Lu Taijing of Muchuan County, Sichuan Province was illegally taken away from home in the middle of July 2003 and sentenced to one and a half years of forced labor. He is now being held at Mianyang City, Sichuan Province.

In the afternoon of August 26, 2003, Falun Dafa practitioners from a big city in Northern China hung up two banners alongside a major street. One of the banners said, "Cultivating Falun Dafa, the True Practitioners Would not Commit Self-Immolation or Suicide", and the other read, "Cultivating Truthfulness, Compassion and Forbearance Your Health Would Improve and Moral Standards Would Become More Noble". There were numerous onlookers who admired the courage of Dafa practitioners. The two banners were hung there for more than two hours.

Mother and daughter Falun Dafa practitioners, Chen Huilian and Xia Tingyu, have been illegally arrested and imprisoned six times since July 20 1999. Since they started cultivation in 1998, two thirds of their time have been spent in jail.

During the process of clarifying the truth, they were illegally arrested in October 2002 and April 2003, and currently they are being held in the Renshou Detention Center. It is said recently that they would be sentenced to forced labor.

Two Dafa practitioners from Gaoleng, Fangzheng County were at female Dafa practitioner Li Zengyun's home at Shahezi. The three of them were taken away by the local police after being reported by Ms. Li's neighbor Guo Fengyun. Currently Li Zengyun and one practitioner from Gaoleng are being held at Fangzheng County Detention Center. Another practitioner from Gaoleng is held at Fangzheng County Jail.

Falun Dafa practitioner Feng Xinlei of Fengjia Yuanzi Village, Dongwan Township was arrested by Pingchuan District Police in 2002 for distributing truth clarification materials. In order to force him to tell them other practitioners' names the police used inhumane torture against him, such as "carrying a sword in the back" [The practitioner's hands are tied behind his back with one hand over the shoulder and the other hand against the lower back. The police then apply a great deal of force to pull the two hands toward one another and handcuff the two hands together.] Feng could not bear the torture and named fellow practitioners, so it caused a huge loss. Feng Xinlei was later sentenced to four years of imprisonment. In July of this year, he was sent to Dashaping Detention Center in Lanzhou City for further persecution.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Liu Wu of Jingyuan County Veterinary Station was taken to Baiyin City Brainwashing Center by the Political and Legal Commission and the police when he first came to work after being released upon completion of his terms of forced labor. Dafa practitioner Mr. Zhan Xuecheng of Shaliang Village, Dongwan Township, Jingyuan County was taken to Beiyin City Brainwashing Center upon his completion of terms of forced labor. He was directly taken to the brainwashing center and is still held there. Mr. and Mrs. Zhan Tingli and Mr. Zhan Tinghe of Hongliu Village, Dongwan Township of Jingyuan County were taken to Baiyin City Brainwashing Center. Those steadfast Dafa practitioners have suffered from cruel torture.

At 3 P.M. on August 28^th, 2003, Mr. Wang Yaomin of Tancheng County, Linyi City was detained by the police from the Daling Police Substation when handing out truth clarification material. He was sent to Linyi Detention Center the following day.

In the evening of September 2nd, Panzhihua City Dafa practitioner Tang Yushan's husband, who is not a practitioner, was intercepted by a police car shortly after walking out of his house. Four uniformed policemen jumped out of the car and dragged him with force into the car and took him to Renhe Police Sub-Bureau, where he was interrogated. The policemen asked him what were in his bag. Tang's husband replied that they were videotapes he was going to return to the video shop. However, the policemen insisted they were Falun Dafa truth clarification VCDs. They finally discovered that they really were normal videotapes.

In late August, the police of Panzhihua city arrested Ms. Deng Yufang, Ms. Chen Chunlan, Ms. Zhao Yuqin and Ms. Ju. Pushed by the policeman from Wan Yaoshu, Zhao Yuqin fell and injured her knee. Now she cannot walk and was sent back home. The other three female practitioners are still held at Wanyaoshu.

[Xuchang, Henan Province] Female Falun Dafa Practitioner Zheng Qiaoyun is Once Again Sent to Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp

In June 2003, policemen from the Political and Security Section, Weidu District Police Station, Xuchang City, Henan Province sent Zheng Qiaoyun to Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp in Zhengzhou City. The camp refused to take her in because she did not pass the health examination. However, the policemen did not stop there. In late August, they took Zheng Qiaoyun away again, and she is now suffering from cruel torture at the Shibalihe Forced Labor Camp.

In the morning of September 9^th, Ms Li Yuezhi (about sixty years old) and Ms Xiao Jing (about forth years old) were taken away by the police from the Huashi Township Police Sub-station after they were tipped off. Their whereabouts are unknown.

Early this June, Han Quanshui was arrested by the police from his rented house. The police also took away his computer, printer and truth-clarification materials. Even Han's motorbike that he left downstairs also disappeared. On June 26, Huojia County arrested Han on trumped up charges that were approved by the Huojia County procuratorate. He is now held at the Huojia County Detention Center. The persons who are in charge of this case are Li Daobin and Wang Jianzhong (Mobile: 86 C 13072630012)

From May to July this year, Huojia County police frenziedly arrested Dafa practitioners.

Thirty-eight year old Mr. Li Jiangxiu is a practitioner at Zhongyuan Oil Field. On May 15, 2003 he was reported and illegally arrested by Han Qing of 610 Office [a bureau specifically created by the Chinese government to persecute Falun Gong. It has absolute power over each level of administration in the Party, as well as over the political and judiciary branches.] and Zhu Yanqun of the local police station when handing out truth clarification VCDs. Now Li's wife has to live on 200 yuan [500 yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] she earns from a cleaning job and support her eight-year-old son.

Twenty year old Mr. Wang Ruyong was also arrested with Mr. Li and is now held at Xuchang No. Three Forced Labor Camp. Mr. Li Haijun, over 30 years old, is also being held for forced labor.

Female Falun Dafa practitioner Zeng Xiaoli, from Zhongyuan Oil Field, was arrested in July 2003 and her whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Li Chuanwei is a farmer from Tianji Village, Panji District, Huainan City, Anhui Province. He was sent to the province's Nanhu forced labor camp because he practiced Falun Gong. He was tortured for 43 consecutive days and suffered from tuberculosis. Because his life was in danger, he was released on bail for medical treatment.

In the afternoon of April 16, 2003, policeman Wang Huaijing and his men of the Political and Security Section, Panji District Police Substation wanted to take Mr. Li Chuanwei away. Li refused, so Wang Huaijing called in more policemen and took Mr. Li away by force. He told Li's family to hand in a fine of 2,000 yuan, and then they would release Mr. Li. Because of the successive persecution, Li's family had no money to have him released, so Mr. Li was taken to Huainan's Detention Center.

On June 15^th, people from Quzhou County's Siding Township government and Police Sub-station went to the home of Ms. Li Shucai of Pushang Village, as well as the homes of Ms. Ai Yingjia, Mr. Ji Chengjia and Mr. Ji Jun to extort money and force them to write the so-called "Guarantee Statement" [A statement to acknowledge remorse for practicing Falun Gong, to give up Falun Gong, and to never again associate with those practitioners who practice Falun Gong or go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong.]. These perpetrators threatened to arrest these Dafa practitioners and send them to forced labor camps. Some Dafa practitioners were not home, so they forced their families to pay the money. Li Shucai and Aiying paid 1,500 yuan each, Ji Cheng 1,000 yuan and Ji Jun 1,200 yuan.

The Quzhou County 610 Office ordered the local police sub-station to detain Falun Dafa practitioners, search their houses and extort money and property, which have caused families to be torn apart. Some practitioners dare not go back home for fear they would be arrested, so they have to leave their homes and go from place to place, and still others stay in the fields to avoid being arrested.
