Belgium: Press Conference about Genocide Lawsuit against Jiang
(Clearwisdom.net October 10, 2003) On 9th of October,
world-renowned human rights lawyer Mr. Georges-Henri Beauthier and the Belgian
Falun Dafa Association held a press conference regarding the decision made by
the state prosecutor over a lawsuit filed against the Chinese dictator Jiang
Zemin. Important media organizations were invited to the conference.
During the conference, Mr. Beauthier informed people about
the negative answer from the state prosecutor, and he told the press that it is
wrong for a prosecutor to decide whether the Belgian plaintiffs were victims of
genocide or not. Only a judge has the right to decide that. He stated that the
case will continue until justice is served.
A representative from the Belgian Falun Dafa Association made
a statement in the conference and expressed their determination: "We will
continue to provide proof of the genocide against Falun Dafa." Finally,
they asked the Minister of Justice for a positive injunction in the complaint
against Jiang Zemin.
