Macao: Falun Gong Practitioners Hold Activities to Protest Jiang Regime's Persecution (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net, October 20, 2003) On October 17, the chief member of Jiang regime, Zeng Qinghong, the Vice-President of China came to Macao to attend some subscription ceremony. Because of his coming, numerous policemen and plainclothes officers in Macao were dispatched to enforce martial law or to watch the suspected. Although the circumstances were difficult and full of pressure, Macao Falun Gong practitioners used their righteous thoughts and righteous actions to hold peaceful activities including studying the Fa, sending forth righteous thoughts and clarifying the facts to protest Jiang regime's bloody persecution of Falun Gong. From 10:30 a.m. to 11: 45 a.m., practitioners distributed truth-clarifying materials in front of the business-discussion hall and the Press Bureau. One after another, local residents and tourists accepted and read the materials. In a short while, 2,000 packets were distributed. From 1:20 p.m. to 2:20 p.m., practitioners gathered at the small park in front of the Chinese Liaison Office to study the Fa, practice the exercises and send forth righteous thoughts. Then they distributed flyers and explained the facts to tourists from Mainland China outside the Pujing Gambling House. The activities continued to 6:00 p.m. when practitioners joined the global synchronous sending forth righteous thoughts. They continued their routine Fa-study and sending forth righteous thoughts from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m.

Since July 20, 1999, when Jiang regime started persecuting Falun Gong, Zeng Qinghong has been closely following Jiang to perform the state-terrorism policy of "destroying their reputation, bankrupting them financially and perishing them physically" against Falun Gong practitioners. He has planed and carried out a number of actions to persecute Falun Gong practitioners. Sever hundred thousand practitioners have been imprisoned in jails, labor camps, psychiatric hospitals and brainwashing centers. Over a thousand people were persecuted to death. The persecution was also extended to Macao. Before Macao returned to China, this tiny area was already called a "semi-liberated area." Mainland China's official influences had already penetrated through Macao. At least half of the territory was controlled by the Chinese government. After Macao was taken over, the Macao authorities even openly ignored the "one country, two systems" policy, and closely follow Jiang regime to persecute Falun Gong. The authorities do not hesitate to spend large quantity of money, material resources and use numerous policemen to watch and follow Falun Gong practitioners. They treat these good people who believe in "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" as criminals. During the so-called sensitive periods of time, for instance, when some important officials from the central government came to Macao, they would further violate practitioners' human rights and freedom. They monitored and videotaped practitioners' activities, restricted practitioners from freely entering or leaving the territory or going to Hong Kong or the Mainland. Sometimes, they forcefully entered practitioners' home to search around. They even abducted practitioners and detained them in the police station. In addition, they further intensified the persecution by economic means. Two years ago, two Macao residents and several Falun Gong practitioners who were dispatched from the Mainland to work in Macao were fired by some China-invested companies in Macao. Recently, a conscientious middle school teacher was unreasonably dismissed by the school's principal, simply because he practices Falun Gong. The principal is actually a member of the Macao Legislation Council and a spokesperson of the Macao government.
