Ms. Tan Zaiying, 39, and Ms. Guo Aiping, 27, were practitioners of Chicheng county, Hebei province. On 7/20/1999, to appeal to stop the persecution against Falun Dafa, these two practitioners made the long bus trip to Beijing. Along the way, the bus was stopped at a checkpoint and police ordered them off the bus. In order to continue the trip to Beijing and avoid detention and abuse at the hands of the police, they were forced to climb a mountain. Unfamiliar with the mountain routes, some time after 9 PM they accidentally fell off a cliff and died.

Ms. Xie Xiugai, approximately 40 years old is a Dafa practitioner in Anping, Hebei province. Because she broadcast a program containing the true facts of the persecution against Falun Gong by overriding the CCTV programing, she was illegally arrested and detained in the Baoding Mancheng detention center. Currently she is in poor health although there are no details. The detention center does not allow her family to visit.

Recently, Wuhan City Hubei province's authorities illegally tried Dafa practitioner Mr. He Jian on a trumped up criminal charge of, "destroying a TV broadcast." Mr. He denied all of the police accusations.

At midnight on 9/15/2003, while walking, practitioner Ms. Zhu Xiying of Baige town, Macheng City, Hubei province was suddenly attacked by the local scoundrels organized by policeman Mr. Peng Honghui. They brutally beat her for 20 some minutes until she fell unconscious. Then they illegally sent Ms. Zhu to a detention center to persecute her further.

Early in May 2003, local public security bureau, Ningjiang 2^nd branch, in Songyuan city, Jilin province and the petroleum station police went to the China Petroleum Qianguo plant's catalysis office and forcefully took away Dafa practitioners Mr. Jiang Xinming (husband) and Ms. Yi Haipo (wife). This couple is currently being detained at Songyuan Detention Center.

It was said that Hunan province's Yueyang practitioners Mr. Li Runtian and Mr. Hu Heping had been illegally sentenced to forced labor. They are scheduled to be transfered to the Lingxiang Labor Camp after 10/1/2003.

Ms. Li Guiru was an official at Beijing Haiding district's Beijing Liquid Fuels Company as well as a Dafa practitioner. She has been missing for 3 months and it is thought that she has been seized illegally by police in order to persecute her.

Practitioner Ms. Liu Nanhua is a nurse at a Hubei province's Macheng city hospital. On 9/9/2003, in order to help patients, sharing her own experience Ms. Liu told them of the beneficial health effects of Falun Gong, the persecution against Falun Dafa, and the government's lies. After receiving a report by one of Mr. Zhou's family members, the police came to unduly arrest Ms. Liu and search her house. The police lied and told Ms. Liu that they would take her to a work unit. But actually they took Ms. Liu to the Second Detention Center. There she kept clarifying the truth to the police until they ran out of arguments. the authorities extorted her by claiming that if Ms. Liu would pay some fine, they would release her. After refusing the police quietly turned to her family to blackmail them for 4,000 Yuan.

Practitioner Ms. Xie Qiongying of Macheng City, Hubei province was illegally taken away from home on 9/5/2003. The police also ransacked her home. Detained at Macheng First Detention Center, Ms. Xie went on hunger strikes to protest her illegal detention.

The Brainwashing Base for Suchuan province Chongqing City, Shapingba Jingkou town is on Xianfeng Street on the second floor of Chongqing Geophysical Instruments' villa meeting center. The whole second floor is enclosed by an steel fence with a guarded big metal gate. The doors for all the rooms on the second floor are tightly closed so outsiders cannot hear what is going on within. Each room has three beds with the center one for the detained practitioner. The other two are for the guards. The door is always closed except for mealtime. There is a small window at the top of the door for hall patrol. Work personnel here are transferred from public security, DA's office, and courts. Everyday at around 4 PM one guard from each room goes to a daily group meeting so as to report the "sandwiching" status and to secretly discuss how to break practitioners will power.

In mid May 2003, police illegally broke into practitioner Ms. Yin Xingfin's house in Yuebei District, Chongqing City. They beat Ms. Yin and her daughter Ms. Zhou Hong (also a Dafa practitioner). Ms. Yin is now being detained illegally at Yuebei Detention Center while the whereabouts of Ms. Zhou is unknown.

A few days later, the police came to her house to brutally beat up Ms. Yin's husband and son Mr. Zhou Tao (both are practitioners). Mr. Zhou Tao suffered head injuries requiring some 20 stitches. The husband and the son both resisted the police persecution by shouting, "Falun Dafa is good. Falun Dafa is righteous!" Now Mr. Zhou Tao and his father are missing and their 80-plus year-old grandmother was left alone without anyone to care for her.
