Singapore: Meeting Tourists From the Chinese National Security Bureau at Merlion Park

Recently practitioners in Singapore met some tourists from the Chinese National Security Bureau and other organizations in charge of Falun Gong issues while they were practicing in Merlion Park. One young Chinese among the tourists was stunned when he saw people practicing Falun Gong.

When questioned, he didn't deny that he was an officer in the Chinese National Security Office. He said this (Falun Gong) is totally different from what is described in the Chinese government's propaganda. He realized the potential serious consequences of the persecution of Falun Gong. Before leaving, he accepted the truth-clarifying materials. Later, he returned and asked for contact information. He wanted to keep in touch with the practitioners in order to learn more about Falun Gong.

When another group of tourists realized we were Falun Gong practitioners, their faces looked embarrassed. They lowered their heads and whispered: "Falun Gong..." When they returned to the practice site, some of them picked up the truth-clarifying materials; and someone told the practitioners while pointing to one of his companions: "This is our Political Chief of Staff, you should tell him the facts about Falun Gong." And surprisingly, that officer actually stopped and listened to every detail spoken by a practitioner. At last he smiled at the practitioners to show his thanks.

We met two other tourists. One of them crouched in front of our truth-telling boards, and tried to videotape the face of each practitioner. Although a practitioner partially blocked his camcorder with a flyer, told him the truth, and reiterated the old sayings about retribution, he still kept taping. He only stopped shooting when told that most of the practitioners were Singaporeans.

Even his companion felt upset and told the practitioners: "Don't waste your time on him. He is the one in charge of Falun Gong issues." The practitioner smiled and peacefully answered, "We treat everyone well, and take care of everyone because our Master taught us to be so."
