A Firm and Unyielding Dafa Practitioner

In February 2001, a Falun Dafa practitioner was arrested and forced to attend a brainwashing class, where he suffered cruel beatings and was tortured by being forced to stand for long periods of time. One time he was forced to stand on a small stick for more than seven hours, but he still firmly refused to write a so-called "Guarantee Statement."* Afterwards, he was sent to a detention center. In the detention center, he never stopped doing the exercises. Sometimes, he did the exercises many times a day.

In January 2003, this practitioner was illegally sent to a forced labor camp. Other practitioners found that his legs had been crippled; he could move his body just a little bit by pulling with his leg. In the labor camp, he withstood torturous brainwashing by guards. Because he insisted on not giving up his belief in "Truth, Compassion, and Forbearance," he endured cruel beatings by guards. Around April 25, 2003, guards shocked him with four or five electric batons at once, until no electricity remained in the batons. After he suffered the torment and tolerated the pain, this practitioner sat up straight and closed his eyes to send forth righteous thoughts. His firm heart, like diamond, moved the other prisoners. Some of them said, "That man is really made of iron." Some said, "The guards have no humanity."

As he passed through this serious persecution, he ate just a little food and was very weak. The guards thought he was ill, but every doctor's check-up indicated he was ok. However, he became weaker day by day; the guards feared that he might die and wanted to avoid responsibility. On June 22, 2003, the forced labor camp notified the local "610 Office"** to come take him away.

This practitioner often recited teacher's article, "A Righteous God"

"With righteous thoughts and righteous actions

He is diligent without letting up

Eliminating demons that damage the Fa

He is good to all beings"

* "Guarantee Statement" - A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.

** "610 Office" is an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems.
