Practitioner Hu Hanjiao Abducted and Sent To Be Brainwashed

Hu Hanjiao, 35, is a female Dafa practitioner from Chengguan in Hanchuan City, Hubei Province. She was reported to the authorities and arrested soon after, while she was distributing Dafa truth clarifying materials in the family housing of Hanchuan City Municipal Government on the evening of October 10, 2003. The "610 Office"^* of Hanchuan City detained Hu Hanjiao at the First Detention Center of Hanchuan City, and later coerced family members to pay 6,000 Yuan^** on October 16, 2003. They then coerced a relative to accompany her as the "610 Office" sent Hu Hanjiao to a brainwashing class in Wuhuan City. She was on a hunger strike with no food or water for seven days after being arrested. She was very weak and obviously thin when she was sent yesterday to the Wuchang Brainwashing Center. The Hanchuan Political and Judiciary Committee and the "610 Office" persecuted Hu Hanjiao, and in addition extorted from her family members 6,000 Yuan, to be used for their own private ends. These acts reveal the evil nature of the "eliminate their bodies, destroy their finances" guidelines, which were set in place against Dafa practitioners by the evil head, Jiang, and the "610 Office."

Hu Hanjiao went to Beijing to appeal for the first time in September 1999 and was then illegally detained for over three months at the First Detention Center of Hanchuan City. She was released after her family paid 4,000 Yuan. She went to Beijing for the second appeal in May 2000, and was arrested by the Beijing Police Department. She then held a hunger strike for 15 days in the Beijing Detention Center, and was subsequently force fed by Beijing Detention Center personnel.

Later the Hanchuan Police Department moved her from Beijing to the First Detention Center of Hanchuan and continued her detainment. On October 2000, she was released after her family paid another 3,000 Yuan. Since January 2001 she has been forced into a destitute and homeless state. On December 8 in the same year, her husband led police from Chengxi Police Station of Hanchuan to Wuhan. They found her there and arrested her. After she was detained at the First Detention Center of Hanchuan City, she was sent to Shayang Forced Labor Camp where she was held for a year, until her release just before the Spring Festival of 2002.
