A Forced Labor Camp Detainee Overcomes His Addiction to Drugs after Practicing Falun Gong
By a Dafa Practitioner in Wuhan City
(Clearwisdom.net) Officials in Wuhan City Hewan Forced Labor Camp
assigned a drug addict from Team Three to monitor Falun Gong practitioners.
After he spent some time with the practitioners he found that Falun Gong was
very different from what the government claimed. He saw that the practitioners
are all good people. One day he read a Falun Gong book and afterwards he asked a
practitioner, "Your book teaches people to be good and help others. Why
does the government accuse Falun Gong to be an 'evil cult'?" The
practitioner said, "Falun Gong is a righteous cultivation practice, based
on the universal principle of Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance. Some
corrupt and wicked people are afraid of Falun Gong, and are going all out to
persecute and torture us. All the propaganda against Falun Gong are lies." From then on this drug addict changed his opinions. He went from initially
merely being sympathetic to Falun Gong to actually starting to practice Falun
Gong. Before long, his craving for drugs naturally vanished. He was very happy
and excited. After he felt the benefits he deeply devoted himself to Falun Gong
practice. Some inmates reported this to camp officials, and the guards came to
make trouble to him. He not only had no fear but also declared, "From today
on, I officially announce that I am a Falun Gong practitioner." His act has caused a shock wave amongst the other inmates in Team Three.
Police and some fellow inmates intensified their pressure on him, but most
people began to respect Falun Gong. Some inmates secretly exchanged addresses
and phone numbers with practitioners. They told the practitioners that after
they get out, they want to learn Falun Gong from these practitioners. They want
to become truly good people. November 5, 2003
