Former Director of the Chenzhou City "610 Office" is Illegally Sentenced for Supporting Falun Gong

November 11, 2003

(Clearwisdom.net) Mr. Yang Liwen, former director of the Chenzhou City "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems) in Hunan Province, became sympathetic to Falun Gong after his contact with practitioners. He wrote several letters to central government departments to report the truth of Falun Gong. As a result, he was arrested on November 5, 2002, and was illegally sentenced on November 3, 2003.

On November 7, 2002, police raided a Dafa truth-clarification materials production site and arrested practitioners working there. On November 3, 2003, those practitioners, along with Mr. Yang Liwen (the former "610 Office" director mentioned above), were put on trial in the Beihu District Court of Chenzhou City. The practitioners include Mr. He Xuezhao, Mr. Wu Jianming, Mr. Wang Quanlian, Mr. Zeng Zhiyuan, Ms. Zhang Wenlan, Ms. Shi Jiaoyu, Ms. Yuan Dongbo, Ms. Luo Qiaoli, and Ms. Wei Xiangbo.

The Dafa practitioners as a group resisted the illegal trial in the courtroom. They recited "Lunyu" (the preface of Zhuan Falun) in unison. Policemen tried to stop them. Two policemen even slapped practitioners in front of the crowd. The righteousness of practitioners and the sound of their reciting the Fa shocked the evil. The entire courtroom was enveloped in a righteous field. Many people present at the hearing were moved to tears. The trial hastily concluded in no more than forty minutes. The police then sent the practitioners to the Chenzhou City Second Detention Center.
