Prior to her retirement, Ms. Yang Jingyun, 64, was the labor union chairman of her work unit in Qing'an County, Heilongjiang Province. In spite of the Jiang regime's persecution and vicious lies, Yang Jingyun was still determined in her Falun Dafa cultivation practice. Her house had been ransacked several times. On September 23, 2002, police arrested her when she distributed truth-clarifying materials in a village. She was put into a detention center and she was sick due to severe mental torment. Seven days later, police ordered her family to sign a "guarantee statement" and then permitted her family to bring her out for hospitalization. She died on November 6, 2003, after having been sick in bed for over a month.

In mid-September 2003, in collusion with the Taoshan Court, Heilongjiang Province's Police Department and the Qitaihe City "610 Office," 23 Dafa practitioners were sentenced to two to seven years of imprisonment with trumped up charges. Male practitioners were illegally detained in the Mudanjiang City Jail and female practitioners at the No. 387 Collective Training Group, located at Xuefu Street, Nangang District, Harbin City.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Tang Shulan (former name: Tang Dan) from Chongqing, Yongchuan City was sentenced to seven years of imprisonment at Chengdu City Court. At present, she is detained at the Subdivision District Jail of Hong'an Town Women's Jail in the Longquanyi District, Chengdu City (zip code: 610109). Tang Shulan was a student of the English Department in Sichuan's Foreign Language Institute, class of 2002. In October 1999 she was discharged from the University for appealing for Falun Dafa in Beijing, and was subsequently detained at the Yongchuan City Police Department. She was heavily fined and had to live in exile afterwards. In October 2002 she was arrested again in Chengdu City.

Supplemental report: in March 2003, police destroyed a Dafa truth-clarifying materials production center in Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province. About 40 to 50 practitioners were illegally arrested. Seven to eight practitioners were forced to live in exile. One practitioner was tortured to death. Material and equipment worth over 100,000 Yuan was confiscated.

Dafa practitioner Ms. Ming Yanbo, 52, is from Jilin City, Jilin Province. Because she clarified the truth to the public, she was on the "610 Office" wanted list. Personnel from the Longhua Street Committee in Jilin City deceived her and placed her into Division No. 4 in the Changchu City Heizuizi Forced Labor Camp. When she arrived, Zhang Guimei, head of the No. 4 Division and other policemen tried to brainwash her. Instigated by Zhang Guimei, Ming Yanbo's family members, having no knowledge about the true facts of Dafa, forced Ming Yanbo to put her fingerprint on the "rupture statement," which was an announcement giving up Falun Gong practice. Ming Yanbo adamantly objected and declared that the fingerprint was invalid because it was obtained by force. Zhang Guimei took the excuse of her going back on her word as a reason to relentlessly torture her. About five policemen beat and kicked her while shocking her with electric batons. When her family visited her again, her face was severely burned and too miserable to see. However, she still insists on Dafa cultivation practice, no matter whatever the difficulties may be.

It has been confirmed that policemen from Guangji Town Police Department in Mianzhu City, Sichuan Province broke the law and illegally arrested Dafa practitioners Yang Xunrong and Wu Xianrong. Officers from Tumen Town Police Department arrested practitioner Wang Guanxi. Those practitioners were forcibly sent to Qingdao Town Brainwashing Center in Mianzhu City. It is said about 20 practitioners are on the persecution black list of Mianzhu City's police authority. Police prepare to carry out the vicious policy: "Forcible transformation! For those who can not be transformed, suspend their retirement pension or fire them."

In the afternoon of October 24, together with other policemen, Wang Qiang from Lianshan District's Xinggong Police Precinct of Huludao City, Liaoning Province, deceived Ms. Xie Lijuan and another practitioner and got into their house. They arrested the two practitioners and took away many Dafa truth-clarifying materials.

That same morning, local police arrested practitioner Ms. Ling Yanping from Gangxi Village, Gangtun Town, Huludao City while Ling was conducting business at a market. Right now, these practitioners are detained at the Xingcheng Brainwashing Center.

During the night of October 23, plainclothes police arrested practitioner Mr. Li Haisheng from Haifeng County, Guangdong Province, at Xixiang Town in the Bao'an District of Shenzhen City. Another practitioner who was accompanying him walked away in time. In order to arrest the two practitioners, Shenzhen police authorities dispatched many plainclothes officers to stake out Li's home and his friends' homes. After Li's arrest his home was ransacked. The loss was big. Because Li was very determined to practice Falun Gong, he was detained from July 2000 to July 2002 at the Second Middle Team in the No. 7 Division of the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp. His detention term was extended by a couple of months because he did not give up the practice. Following his release he was sent into a brainwashing class for 50 days. Later, he escaped from surveillance and came to Shenzhen City to work. That is why he has been the main target on the wanted list of the Haifeng County authorities. The police from Haifeng County tried to arrest him by any means. Unfortunately, this time the police broke the law and he was arrested.

On October 25, 2003, some coworkers came back from Hong Kong and excitedly told me, "I saw many Falun Gong practitioners at a Hong Kong dock. Some of them were practicing the exercises, some were distributing truth-clarifying materials and some were playing truth-clarifying videotapes. I also saw banners reading, 'Bring Jiang to Justice.'" I told them that besides in Hong Kong, practitioners from all over the world are clarifying the truth. Nowadays, the procedure to go to Hong Kong is simplified. So every day, many people go to Hong Kong for business or vacation. These people are bringing what they have seen back to the Mainland. Hong Kong is such a special place. Hong Kong practitioners' validating the Fa plays an important role for Mainland Chinese to learn the true facts about Dafa.

As before, some of our coworkers who are visiting Hong Kong for business or education, or going to North America or Europe for business, brought back the truth of Dafa to the Mainland. As practitioners in Mainland China, we feel people are waking up and seeking the truth of Dafa in different ways.

On October 14, practitioner Ms. Ma Lihua, over 60 years old and from Ningxiang County, Hunan Province, was detained at the newly opened brainwashing center in Hunan Province. She has been on a hunger strike since October 14 to protest the persecution. The police refused to release her and yelled, "Do you think you can get out by staging a hunger strike?"

On October 17, 2003, when Ms. Yan Ting distributed truth-clarifying materials at a market in Chaoquan Town, Feicheng City, Shandong Province, policemen from Feicheng City arrested her. She is now being held at the Feicheng City Detention Center.

On October 22, 2003, while Ms. Zhou Min and Ms. Zhai Jinping distributed truth-clarifying materials at Sijia Village in the west of Tai'an City, policemen from Tai'an City arrested them. They are now being held at Tai'an City Detention Center.

Dafa practitioner Mr. Li Hongshan is a former military officer for Hegang City's Frontier Defense Station in Heilongjiang Province. To avoid illegal arrest, he has been forced to live in exile for several years. But he insists on clarifying the truth of Falun Gong. During each festival the army would send personnel everywhere to try to arrest him. But he was steadfast in his Dafa cultivation practice. He went to Beijing to validate Dafa and was arrested prior to May 1, 2003. Now his family has been informed that he will be illegally sentenced.

The Political and Security Section for Anda City Police Department in Heilongjiang Province is located at the east side of Bei'erdao Street. Liu Yingshan, head of the city's "610 Office," who persecutes Dafa practitioners, stayed there. As Dafa practitioners are clarifying the truth, more and more people get to know the crimes of vicious officials persecuting Dafa and Dafa practitioners. Practitioners often put truth-clarifying materials into the door of the political and security section, and posted banners reading, "Falun Dafa is Great," "Falun Dafa is a Righteous Way," "Heaven's Justice Does Not Allow Persecuting Falun Dafa," and other righteous phrases onto the walls of the section. Recently, this section secretly took away its signboard and arranged for a doorkeeper who is said to be Liu Yingshan's relative.

In 2002, Dafa practitioner Ms. Li Tong'e, from Handan City, Hebei Province, was arrested prior to the 16th Party Congress. She suffered many brutal tortures. Because she refused to give up Dafa cultivation practice, she was held at a detention center for about ten months. Before she was released in August 2003, the officials extorted 3,000 Yuan from her, and her family also spent a lot of money to get her out. Not long ago, persons from the Zhuhe Road Street Office in Handan City entrapped her by deceiving her to go to the Zhuhe Road Street Office. Her residence committee and her work unit colluded with the others. They attempted to force her to write the "three statements" but she firmly refused. Then she was sent to a brainwashing class for further persecution.

Ms. Mo Lina, 49, was arrested on or around October 25. Her whereabouts is unknown. The details are under investigation.

Utility poles at busy places in Beijing have been equipped with video cameras. Policemen try to monitor Dafa practitioners' actions using these cameras.

Nine practitioners were detained at the Suizhong County Brainwashing Class in Huludao City of Liaoning Province. Besides the seven Dafa practitioners who were reported on several days ago, Ms. Wei Yarong from Yejia Township and Mr. Wang Shude from Wanggang Village were also arrested.

Recently, Fengrun District's Education Bureau and the district's movie company showed a movie slandering Dafa at all primary and secondary schools within the district. At present, the movie was shown at schools in Shaliuhe Town. Each student was forced to pay 4 Yuan and watch the movie.
