Shuanghe Labor Camp in Heilongjiang Province Purchases 80 Torture Chairs

(Clearwisdom.net) The staff of Shuanghe Labor Camp in the city of Qiqihar of Heilongjiang Province use all kinds of disgraceful ways to torture Dafa Practitioners. They illegally force practitioners detained in the labor camp to attend brainwashing classes. They allow collaborators (former practitioners who have turned against Dafa under pressure) to take turns to hound those who have not given up their beliefs. Sometimes, they harass the practitioners until late into the night, and the practitioners are not permitted to interact with anyone else during that time. They supervise the practitioners 24 hours a day, and force them to watch videos that defame and slander Dafa. If the practitioners refuse to cooperate, they are tortured using various tools, such as metal torture chairs, until they give in. This summer, the Shuanghe Labor Camp purchased 80 of these chairs.

Some determined practitioners are forced to sit in these torture chairs for long periods of time. Others are forced to lie down on another type of torture chair called the tiger bench, with their arms stretched to the extreme and tied to the lowest legs of the chair [For illustration of this torture see: http://www.clearwisdom.net/emh/articles/2001/11/24/16156.html]. Before long, their arms become swollen and begin to blister. Those who refuse to give up their beliefs are beaten severely, and some are even beaten until they become unconscious.

Every month, the police conduct body searches on the steadfast practitioners. They even strip them of clothing and check them for Dafa material. If any materials are found, the practitioners are sent straight to the metal torture chairs. Some are even forced to sit for over 30 days straight, and are given only a couple of buns and a few pieces of pickled vegetables per day.
