Cases of Persecution of Falun Dafa Practitioners in Longkou City, Shandong Province

(Clearwisdom.net) Wang Mingli and Shi Fengzhi are Falun Dafa practitioners who are married and over sixty years old. They live in Yuanxia Village of Qijia Town (Longkou City, Shandong Province). They began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997. Prior to practicing, Mingli had cancer and Fengzhi had also been constantly bothered by illness. Their illnesses put a heavy burden upon their family, both mentally and financially. Through practicing Falun Dafa, not only did their health return, their moral character improved. Thus, the whole family realized that Falun Dafa is good.

On July 20, 1999, the Chinese government began persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners. After the persecution began, Mingli and Fengzhi told people the truth about Falun Dafa. They were persecuted several times by the local "610 office*", the local government, and the police. In June 2002, they were forced to leave their home to avoid being arrested by the police. In May 2003, they were arrested and brutally tortured by the local "610 Office." Mr. Wang suffered a severe illness due to the torture. The authorities refused to release them, even after extorting a large sum of money from their family. In September 2003, both were illegally sentenced to prison terms: four years for Shi Fengzhi and three years for Wang Mingli.

Ms. Yin Shuxian, a Falun Dafa practitioner, lives in Jiuli Village, Dongjiang Township, Longkou City. After July 20, 1999, she was illegally arrested numerous times, tortured, and kept in jail until 2001. She was then sent to Wangcun Forced Labor Camp and released in 2002. While she was clarifying the truth about Falun Dafa in January 2003, she was again arrested. She was brutally tortured by the following jail employees: Li Shuqiang, Wang Renan, Wang Qi, and Zou Lin. After a month, she was on the verge of mental collapse and was sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

The Longkou City "610 Office*" illegally arrested Falun Dafa practitioners, Han Xia who lived on Xinjia Street, and Qu Caihong of Qijia Township, in June 2003. After being jailed and tortured for a month, they both were sent to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp.

Falun Dafa practitioner Mr. Yao Xinren is about 30 years old and worked in the Liangjia Mine. On September 13, 2003, the Public Security Branch in Longkou City illegally arrested him. He was tortured in a jail for over a month. His whereabouts currently are unknown.
