Government Agents Stole all Household Possessions and Detained Three Family Members
(Clearwisdom.net) I am 33 years old and live in a mountain village in
Sichuan Province. In 1997, my mother began practicing Falun Dafa. In 1998, I
also began to cultivate Dafa. I have benefited both physically and mentally. In 1999, the government began persecuting Falun Gong. In February 2000, my
mother traveled to Beijing to tell the government that Falun Gong is good.
Before she was sent home, unscrupulous persons from the township government
stole all of our household belongings, including daily-use items. The government representatives auctioned off many of our valuables, including
a TV, a tape recorder, an electrical fan, a diesel engine, a rice cooker, 100
meters of rubber hose, a sofa, and several chairs. They also stole and divided
our preserved meats, sausages, lard supply, vegetable oil, soap, salt, and live
chickens. They even took our seed rice for next year and destroyed them. They
had to use a large truck to haul away all of the items they stole from us. I went to the township government to reason with them and ask them to at
least return our cooking wok. I told them we needed the wok so we can cook and
feed the family. They not only refused to return it to me, a clerk even slapped
me on the face. I went home empty-handed with a swollen face. The next day I
borrowed 200 Yuan* and went to Beijing to appeal. In March 2000, the township
police incarcerated me in a makeshift prison in the township. I was detained
there for 18 days and my mother was detained for 20 days. After we were released
we returned to an empty house. We had no seeds. Our water pump and irrigation
hoses were gone. And we had no farming tools left. Now, almost four years later,
we are still living in a miserable situation. Falun Dafa made our family happy
and prosperous. Those who persecute Dafa destroyed our family. In October 2000, I clarified the facts to a few fellow villagers and told the
villagers about the true nature of the persecution. When the township government
found out about this, they took me to a forced labor camp and tortured me for
one-and-a-half years. When my mother received a few Dafa truth-clarifying
flyers, she passed them on to other people because she is illiterate. As a
result, the township government sent her to the Nanmusi Forced Labor Camp for
two years. After my mother and I served our full sentences, the police put us under
surveillance. Toward the end of March, 2002 I wrote, "Falun Dafa is
good" on a power line post. The police came to my house to make an arrest.
I was not home, so they took my mother and detained her in a drug rehab center [drug
rehabcenters are used by the government to detain Falun Dafa practitioners].
They also arrested my wife and my mother in-law and sent them to a detention
center. My wife and her mother resisted the illegal arrest by holding a hunger
strike. The detention center kept them for over a month before releasing them. The police surrounded my house for three days and nights after they failed to
capture me. Their plan was to arrest me when I returned home. The township
government posted a reward of 500 Yuan for information about my whereabouts. The
reward for personally capturing me was set at 10,000 Yuan. I had no choice but
go into hiding. When my wife came home from the prison, the police also followed her around.
On June 24, 2002, my wife left home for work. On June 26, the township
government agents sent police officers to her parents' house to arrest her. They
failed to find her, so they took her mother instead. A policeman even pointed a
handgun at my father in-law. Several policemen carried my mother in-law away and
placed her in a car. We later heard that she was sent to the Nanmusi Forced
Labor Camp. In June 2003, my wife and I came home for her to give birth to our child. The
police from the National Security Department arrested us on our way home. They
stole all my personal belongings, including 2,600 Yuan in cash, a cell phone,
clothing, and my blankets and sheets. They detained me in the Leshizhu Mountain
Prison. They also threatened to abort our almost to term child in the hospital.
Fortunately, our child was eventually delivered safely. The National Security
Police falsely claimed that they found Dafa books and flyers in my luggage.
Based on this fabricated testimony, the district court sentenced me to a
four-year prison term. * Yuan is the Chinese currency. The average monthly salary of an urban
worker in China is 500 Yuan. December 13, 2003
