Seeing Through the Propaganda and Lies

(Clearwisdom.net) I started practicing Falun Gong after July 20, 1999. I remember that all of the TV and newspapers in the country were slandering Falun Gong at the time. I didn't believe in the alleged "Self-immolation in Tiananmen Square" at all, since I had read the information exposing this staged event on the Minghui website. I understood that agents of the Jiang Zemin regime and Luo Gan, the head of "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], had staged the whole thing to frame and slander Falun Dafa.

One day in August of 2000, I asked a Falun Gong practitioner for a copy of Zhuan Falun [the principle book of Falun Gong]. I read the book eagerly, finishing it in only a few days. Then I read the book again and again. Whenever I had time, I would ask practitioners to teach me the Falun Gong exercises. In only three days after I had learned the exercises, all of my illnesses mysteriously disappeared. I felt as if I had become a new person. Previously, there had always been conflicts in my family. After I studied the Fa, I could give up my attachments and bear anything, so my family became harmonious. It was Falun Gong that made me healthy and brought blessings to our family.

However, since I started to learn Faun Gong during the persecution, my family was afraid that I would get in trouble, so they interfered with my practice. One day when I was away from home, they burned my copy of Zhuan Falun. I was heartsick. I knew that anyone who burned a Dafa book would suffer retribution.

Two days later, at midnight, my daughter-in-law came to tell me that my son had a serious stomachache. I asked him if he had burned my Dafa book. My son's thinking had been poisoned by the propaganda against Dafa. Although he suffered in agony, he answered gruffly, "Yes. So what?"

I exclaimed, "So what? Look at your condition!" My daughter-in-law was afraid to ask me what to do to help him. I asked my son to kneel down in front of Master's picture to ask forgiveness; however, my son did not agree to do it. Later, as soon as he recovered from his stomachache, he lost a 6,000 Yuan bill that he had signed to pay off a debt at work. [500 Yuan is the average monthly income for an urban worker in China.] As a result, he had to pay the bill himself. His three family members always have trouble. Gradually, he has come to understand a little bit, and has started to read the Falun Gong materials and the flyer that I gave him.

Had there been no such persecution and deceitful propaganda spread by the Jiang regime, my son and countless other human beings wouldn't have suffered so much. It is not that Dafa wants to punish anyone. However, there is a principle of the universe: Good is rewarded with good and evil meets evil. Falun Dafa is the shining great law that teaches people to be compassionate and to walk the righteous way. I advise all merciful people to understand the truth of Falun Dafa.
