People Use Their Resourcefulness to Circumvent Repressive Policies

Before the Spring Festival, the '610' office [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems] in one city issued a document to all work units within its jurisdiction, asking them to form their own '610' office within each unit. The document even went on to describe minor details such as all meetings to be documented, how to score performance, etc. One associate head of a work unit happened to be the husband of a Falun Gong practitioner. When his work unit held a meeting to discuss whether or not they needed to form a '610' office, the husband opposed the establishment of such an office and stated the disadvantages of doing it. Other leaders agreed with him, as they were suspicious of the police. Finally, they managed to propose a plan to get around the requirements for forming a '610' office in the unit. While higher authorities may have mandated unpopular policy, the grass roots cope with it using their own strategy.

The police who form '610' offices are not widely welcomed by the public. People who have learned the truth about Falun Gong have started resisting this evil force and are protecting Falun Dafa practitioners.
