From Unknowingly Indulging the Evil to Taking the Initiative to Eliminate the Evil

I recently read the following sentence in a practitioner's experience sharing article regarding how he dealt with being persecuted and the police's efforts to turn him against Dafa through torture and intense pressure. "I am sharing the specific strategy that I used to resist the persecution by the so-called 'transformation': complete non-cooperation and refusal to have any conversation with them." This is a statement that I feel is not quite appropriate.

During the unlawful detention, I also was encircled by former practitioners who'd turned against Dafa. I too adapted the strategy of "non-cooperation," ignored them and went on a hunger strike. Sometimes the evil controlling these "helpers" began swearing at and attacking me as I continued to ignore them and kept on sending forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil that was controlling them. However, I kept asking myself: "While I'm facing so much madness from the evil, is it really so right for me to ignore them and keep silent?" When I saw through those people's obviously twisted logic, why should I have to keep myself silent to protest, rather than correcting and eliminating those notions using my pure thoughts? Therefore, after keeping nearly total silence for more than one month, I no longer continued with such an action, and instead I openly and nobly spoke my pure thoughts. Gradually I found the fields that the evil controlling those people had produced were eliminated because I took the initiative to eliminate the evil. Those "helpers" started to develop respect and understanding towards me. In the end, I was not "transformed."

After I got away from the detention center, I saw a "solemn statement" on Clearwisdom.net written by one of the "helpers" who was assigned to "reform" me and had rejoined the Fa-rectification again. This incident helped me to realize more that from the perspective of resisting the evil and not cooperating with the requests of the evil, we should also have righteous words and righteous actions in conjunction with keeping righteous thoughts to resist the evil. If we have a clear understanding of the Fa's principles, but we still keep absolutely silent and don't say a word, we may to a certain extent be indulging the evil because of an attachment to our method and end up giving the evil some chances to commit more wrongdoings.

Master Li clearly tells us in article "A Suggestion" (Essentials for Further Advancement II), "As Dafa disciples, what you should do in the current situation is clarify the truth to the world's people and expose the evil, thereby safeguarding Dafa. Your own improvement and Consummation are part of this process. Those who do the so-called 'reform' work are also people who have been deceived. Why not turn the tables and expose the evil and clarify the truth to them? I suggest that all students who they are trying to forcefully reform (this excludes those who haven't been taken away for reform) expose the evil and clarify the truth to those people who are doing the reform work, and tell them about the cause and effect relationship of 'good and evil always have consequences.' It is the evil that is afraid of people knowing the truth of the situation, not Dafa disciples."

Then when we are faced with the lies intended to "reform" us, it is more necessary for us to clarify the truth and expose the evil. During this process, even if we find we don't understand the Fa thoroughly, and can't clarify the truth more harmoniously, and find our attachments that have not been removed yet, that just indicates that we should continue cultivating and studying the Fa well! Our result will be totally opposite of what the evils' brainwashing wants to impose on us, because the path we are taking is righteous!

In fact, human beings are very weak. For those who are assigned to do the "reform" work, they might be controlled by the evil beings that are vicious and totally resist Fa-rectification, but of course, at the same time they could be talked to and saved by righteous beings. Actually everything is within Master Li's control. As long as we can do well, those beings that still have hope will be able to rectify themselves while they're within a righteous field and rejoin the Fa-rectification. That fellow practitioner I just mentioned who stepped forward again and published a "solemn statement" is one example.

I believe that we should strictly take the Fa as the teacher when dealing with these issues. When we are arrested and they try to forcibly reform us, we should also make use of this chance to clarify the truth and expose the evil.
