My Understanding Regarding the Incident of "American Citizen Arrested"

(Clearwisdom.net) Recently, the Jiang regime illegally arrested Charles Li, an American citizen and Falun Gong practitioner, while he was visiting China. My understanding is that this incident is not simply an issue of an individual practitioner suffering tribulations. Like the staged "self-immolation" and the fabricated murder cases, the Jiang regime has once again framed a case against Falun Gong. It is trying to extend its persecution of overseas Falun Gong practitioners, so as to damage our truth-clarification efforts and environment. Whether we handle it well or not, the incident will have a huge impact on Dafa practitioners' truth-clarification work. We must look at the nature of this incident with righteous thoughts.

Master told us, "everything that happens today in the ordinary society is the result of Dafa disciples' thoughts." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.") When we Dafa practitioners have a clear understanding about the rescue work for Charles Li from the perspective of the Fa and put it into practice, then the human society will take a corresponding attitude, and the evil's control of everyday people will be eliminated. People will become more and more clearheaded and the voice of justice in the international community will become stronger and stronger, and more sentient beings will be saved. By contrast, if Dafa practitioners, for various reasons, act indifferently towards the rescue work, or become bewildered by superficial appearances in the ordinary society, then society will show the same kind of indifference and other abnormal phenomena. If this happens, not only will we lose the opportunity to clarify the truth in depth during Fa-rectification, but the old forces will also use it to set up another obstacle.

In the process of Fa-rectification, the old forces always attempt to keep a so-called "balance" to sustain the persecution. More than three years have gone past in Fa-rectification, during which time a great number of evil forces have been destroyed, and the remaining evil forces are now in a state no different from that of the head of evil in the human world -- "Only the last vestiges of dirt now blow to and fro." ("Descending to the Earthly World") However, "Poison is just poisonous, and if you want it to stop being poisonous it can't do that." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.") When their lies are exposed one after another, in order to sustain the persecution, they have created the incident of an "American citizen being arrested." They have attempted to fabricate the accusation to coerce the United States government into cooperating with them on this matter in their persecution of Falun Gong.

The United States is a rather unique country, with "inviolable human rights" as her fundamental principle and with her influence in the international community. Through continuous truth-clarification, Falun Dafa has gained more and more support from the members of the US Congress, local government officials as well as the general public after they learned the truth through the effort of Dafa practitioners. The number of the proclamations for Falun Dafa has reached nearly one thousand. The popularity of Falun Dafa in the United States and the persecution in China by the Jiang regime have formed a sharp contrast, which has effectively restrained the evil.

As a Dafa practitioner, Charles Li did not do anything wrong. Therefore, anything done to him, even if he is tried, cannot be tolerated by the Fa-rectification. However, because we have not clarified the truth thoroughly at certain levels of government, the evil has taken advantage of this weak spot in order to create a potential moral disaster for the U.S. Charles Li is an American citizen. He was arrested as soon as he passed through customs, and the U.S. government has the obligation to rescue him with all their strength, no matter from a legal perspective or from the standpoint of justice. However, the old forces have fabricated an accusation in order to use a so-called "law" to restraint the U.S. government's rescue efforts, and they have even gone so far as to coerce the U.S. government to cooperate with them in their "investigation." The true nature of their tactics is to coerce the U.S. to play a supporting role in their persecution of Falun Gong. Now they're threatening to sentence Charles Li to 7-15 years of imprisonment with fabricated charges. If the U.S. government does not resist the pressure from the evil with all their strength, but instead takes a compromising attitude and gives up the protection of their citizens' human rights with the excuse of international relations, then the U.S. government will set an extremely bad precedent in the international community, and will create a huge obstacle for Dafa practitioners in their truth clarification worldwide.

From another perspective, "Every time evil uses bad people to damage us, they are actually promoting us!" ("Lecture on the Fa at the U.S. Midwest Conference," unofficial translation) Dafa is incomparably harmonizing, and when looking at the issue beyond the superficial level, many practitioners have realized that this is an opportunity to clarify the truth in depth and in detail.

Therefore, more Dafa practitioners should act together and use all our efforts in the rescue work, and further clarify the truth to the U.S. government, to the U.S. congress, to the public and to the media, so that the U.S. government and more American people will be able to make the right choice for the benefit of their future.
