Dafa Practitioner Ms. Ma Xiukun, 58, Tortured to Death in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province

Ma Xiukun, female, 58 years old, was a Falun Gong practitioner in Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province. She started practicing Falun Gong in 1996. In August 2001, her home was illegally confiscated and she was detained for 45 days. During the detention period she didn't cooperate with the perpetrators and refused to write the "Three Statements." During the illegal detention Ma Xiukun was seriously injured by the treatment she received, and she had difficulty breathing. The perpetrators feared having to take responsibility for Ma's deteriorated health, so they sent her home. After she returned home, her family members monitored everything she did, because they had been poisoned by the lies of Jiang's regime. They did not allow her to contact others, and did not allow her to read or practice the exercises. Not being able to practice Falun Gong, she was unable to recover promptly. She died on March 18, 2002.
