(Clearwisdom.net) On January 10, 2003, after much suffering due to the Jiang regime's persecution, Dafa practitioner Li Decong in Guanghan City passed away. After being severely injured and experiencing a serious hemorrhage from being brutally beaten by police officers at the Hexing Town brainwashing center, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province, she died 50 days after leaving home and escaping surveillance of the brainwashing center.

Dafa practitioner Li Decong, female, 50-years-old, lived on Xiaobei Street, Guanghan City, Sichuan Province. On November 13, 2002, over a dozen police officers forcefully carried Li Decong away while she was working at a teashop in Mashi Street, Guanghan City. She was sent to Hexing Town brainwashing center in Guanghan City where she was brutally beaten and abused. Six persons from the "610 Office" lifted her up and threw her on the ground six times and caused severe internal injuries and a hemorrhage. In order to escape their responsibility, the police sent her to Guanghan City No. 2 People's Hospital. To escape surveillance, Li Decong ran out of hospital during a diagnostic test and was forced to leave home and move from place to place. More than 50 days later, she passed away in a private home on January 10, 2003.

On December 29, 2000, Li Decong went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa and was arrested at the west train station in Beijing. She was taken back to the Binglinggong brainwashing center in Beiwai Township, Guanghan City. To force her to read Fa-slandering phrases, the evil thugs didn't allow her to eat, forced her to raise her hands above her head, stand against the wall for a long time and run barefoot. They also forced her to sit on the cold cement floor with her hands stretched out and touching the ground. They tortured her with each method for a long time and they threatened to expel her daughter from college. Chen Zhongyan, the head thug in Guanghan City came to assert pressure on Li Decong to force her to give up her belief but failed to change her mind. The guards played Dafa-slandering videos and audiocassettes every day and tried to brainwash her with the help of many collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to torture and brainwashing], all of which failed. The thugs took more severe measures of torture by forcing Li Decong to stand seven days in a row and run for a long period of time while giving her only a meager amount of rice porridge twice a day. After the 50-day brainwashing class, she was extorted 1,000 Yuan for lodge and board expenses.

In March 2001, claiming they wanted to have a "talk," officials from the Guanghan City Police Department tricked Li Decong to go to Nanfeng Town Police Station in Guanghan City while she was at the home of a relative. That same day they transferred Li Decong to Guanghan City Detention Center and detained her for 15 days. On April 24, 2002, Li Decong was caught by thugs while posting Dafa materials and was illegally detained in Guanghan City Detention Center for 26 days. The Chengbei Police Station officials ransacked her home twice and took away Dafa materials, tape recorder, cell phone and other items. Her husband Su Decheng was implicated and was fired from his post as a door guard at Guanghan City Industry and Commerce Bureau. As mentioned above, on November 13, 2002, Li Decong was forcibly carried away by several vicious police officers while working at a teashop and she never returned home.
