(Clearwisdom.net) Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Yuan Shengqian, 46 years old, was a farmer from the third squad of the 12^th production brigade in Zhuwa County, Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province. Because he resolutely persisted in his cultivation practice of Falun Gong, he was cruelly tortured.

After July 20, 1999, Yuan Shengqian went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa. The Beijing police unlawfully arrested and beat him. After Yuan was detained in Beijing for more than 10 days, he was transferred to a detention center in Pengzhou City, where he was held for about 15 days.

In 2000, Yuan Shengqian was abducted several times by county government officials and held in the county government hall for brainwashing. The vicious people from the county government often violently beat him. Consequently, he was badly injured, his body was covered with wounds and his clothes soaked with blood.

On December 28, 2000, Yuan Shengqian went to Beijing a second time to appeal for Falun Dafa. When he was arrested in Beijing and sent back to the county government, he was beaten so badly by the officials from local "610 Office" that he lost consciousness. Later, he was forced to carry a black sign or stand on a high stool and parade through the streets to be publicly denounced. Afterwards, he was transferred to a detention center in Pengzhou City, where he was held for one month; then he was sentenced to 1 and a half years in a forced labor camp. While being imprisoned in the Xinhua Forced Labor Camp in Mianyang City, he continued to suffer various methods of persecution and inhuman torture, which caused severe internal injuries. Fearing responsibility, the labor camp set him free. After returning home, Yuan Shengqian's health continuously declined, and he passed away on April 27, 2002.
