Tortured to Death: Dafa Practitioner Zhao Kaisheng From Donggang City, Liaoning Province

Dafa practitioner Zhao Kaisheng, male, 61, was a resident in Jinjiang Street, Dadong Administration District, Donggang City, Liaoning Province. He was unlawfully detained on September 10, 1999 by police. Later, his family bailed him out with a 2,000-Yuan "deposit." In June 2000, he was once again detained for 15 days without any formal charges.

On December 13, 2000, he was arrested after going to Beijing to validate Dafa. He suffered 70 days of persecution in a detention center and the police confiscated 10,600 Yuan he had carried with him.

On February 21, 2001, he was sent to Dandong City Forced Labor Camp for 2 years of forced labor. He suffered all kinds of inhuman treatment there. He was released due to his extremely poor physical condition. Shortly after his release, police officers from the local station began to frequently harass him at home. Having suffered serious physical and mental tortures, Zhao Kaisheng's health continuously deteriorated. He died on April 23, 2002.
