Touching Stories in front of the Chinese Consulate in Houston

(Clearwisdom.net) Every day in front of Chinese Consulate in Houston, there are practitioners peacefully appealing for an end to the persecution of Falun Gong in China. The practitioners' peaceful spirit and determination touches countless people passing by. People use different ways to express their care and respect for us. Almost every day there is a touching story. The following are just a few of them.

Summer in Houston is extremely hot, but as always, practitioners did the exercises and sent righteous thoughts in front of the Chinese Consulate every day. One day, a middle aged western woman carried a box full of bottles of ice water and put them in every practitioner's hand. The cool and sweet water flowed into our hearts.

One day after doing sitting meditation, we found a bunch of beautiful yellow roses lying beside us. The practitioner who distributed Dafa flyers told us that the flowers were put there by an elderly lady. She stood there watching us doing exercises, and was touched. Her eyes filled with tears. She went into a flower shop and bought the flowers and respectfully put it beside the practitioners. She told the practitioner who distributed flyers how she respected us.

One day, it was raining very hard. Most practitioners did not bring umbrellas or raincoats, but they gracefully sat in the muddy water. Suddenly a car pulled over and stopped. A middle-aged man jumped out of the car and ran to us holding four raincoats. He gave the raincoats to us, but the raincoats were passed around with no one taking them because every practitioner wanted to let other practitioners wear them. Seeing the situation, the man immediately jumped in the car and drove away. Soon he was back. This time he was holding a bunch of new raincoats in his arms. One by one, he put the raincoats on every practitioner. Then he stood in the rain for a while, and watched us respectfully and was moved by our spirit. At that moment, tears mixed with rain rolled down our cheeks.

One day while we were studying the Fa, three generations from one Chinese family came out from the Chinese Consulate. They walked up to us. The granny said carefully, "The heaven has witnessed everything. Those people will get retribution [for persecuting Falun Gong]. She pointed to the consulate. The middle aged man said, "We all understand the sacrifice Falun Gong has made [for righteousness]. Most people understand you. The final victory belongs to you!" The young boy (grandson) said, "Grandfathers, grandmothers, uncles and aunts, you are all working hard." We were moved by their honest words.

The Chinese Consulate in Houston was under re-construction. They hired a twenty-man construction team from Shanghai, China. In the very beginning, the workers kept away from us and looked at us in a strange way. Day after day, they came to know us and their defensive attitude disappeared. Sometimes, they had an opportunity to come over and read our posters, or just say hello. They saw us coming every day and joked with us, "You are coming earlier than the staff in the consulate." When we were leaving, they'd said, "See you tomorrow." One day, two workers saw no one around from the consulate, and they told us that they wanted to read our newspaper.

The Chinese Consulate in Houston is on a main street with heavy automobile traffic and pedestrians. Every day, lots of people show us their support. They honk, wave to us and give us a thumbs up. One day, someone threw a paper ball from a passing car. We opened it up and it read: "China's ruling Party is indeed evil."
