[Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Falun Dafa Practitioners Su Weihuan, Dong Weicai, and Cai Shijin Are Arrested

On February 15, 2003, Su Weihuan (female), a 32-year-old engineer, was arrested while distributing truth-clarifying materials at Sujiatun. She is being currently detained in a detention center, and she is on a hunger strike.

In late January of 2003, Dong Weicai and his wife Cai Shijin were illegally arrested. Their home was searched. They are being separately detained in the Wangjiahezi Detention Center and the Shenyang Detention Center.

Yu Xianfeng (male), is around 37 years old, and is the Party Secretary of a village. His phone number is 86-451-3880388.

Since July 20, 1999, Yu Xianfeng has been persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, following Jiang's Criminal Regime. He harasses practitioners at their homes, watches practitioners in person and instructs his people to monitor practitioners' activities where they live. In early 2001, together with the village head of Minfeng Village, he stopped a practitioner on his way to distribute truth-clarifying materials. They body searched the practitioner, and confiscated over 1600 flyers, which he burned later in his office. On March 21, 2002, he went to the practitioner's home and forcibly conducted a search. He took away his Essentials For Further Advancement II and threatened the practitioner. On April 1, 2002 when Yu Xiaofeng was having a meeting at the local township government, he, together with Song Xueliang, a clerk from the local "610 Office", reported on Dan Deyi, a practitioner who went to ask for his Falun Dafa books that Yu Xianfeng had confiscated. As a result, Tan Deyi was illegally detained in the Acheng Detention House for four months, followed by an illegal sentence to a three-year term of forced labor reeducation in the Changlinzi Forced Labor Camp, where he is subjected to all means of torture.

Since July 20, 1999, police in the Daxing'anling area of Heilongjiang Province have illegally sentenced several dozen Falun Dafa practitioners to jail terms and forced labor camps. Some practitioners went on hunger strikes to protest against the illegal detention. The police employed prisoners to force-feed them. Some practitioners lost consciousness due to the force-feeding. Some practitioners' teeth became loose. Recently, the police in the area illegally sentenced Lu Yuping, former head of the Falun Dafa Daxing'anling Assistant Center, to fourteen years in prison. Lu Yuping has just been released from jail after completion of a two-year term. Another practitioner, Li Ping, was sentenced to a four-year prison term at the same time.

On July 28, 2002, Chen Tianjie was arrested while clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa to people in Zhejiang Province. On January 6, 2003, he was illegally sentenced to eleven years in prison. He is currently being jailed in the No. 4 Prison in Lingping Town, Yuhang Area of Hangzhou City.

Over 80 Falun Dafa practitioners were beaten unconscious many times in the Harbin Female Medical Center For Drug Addicts. Before the practitioners came to, police in the center forcibly pressed their fingerprints or footprints on a ready-made "statement of guarantee" [A statement to declare that he or she is remorseful for practicing Falun Gong and guarantees not to practice Falun Gong again, not to go to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong, and never again associate with any Falun Dafa practitioners.]. These practitioners have made solemn declarations that all such statements are null and void. Police in one team of the center are extremely vicious. We don't know yet what means they have employed to persecute Falun Dafa practitioners. All we know is that healthy practitioners always are left on the verge of death after being tortured by this team.

Recently, the Wanjia Forced Labor Camp has launched a new round of persecution against Falun Dafa practitioners. Practitioners are forced to work 14 hour days. Practitioners who are a slow moving around will be beaten. Practitioners are also subjected to forced brainwashing again. Any act that doesn't follow their orders may lead to be cuffed and hung up [With both hands cuffed, both feet off or only toes touching the ground, one is hung onto the basketball support or the beam of the house with handcuffs. The hands and arms will soon become paresthetic and numb] Practitioners in the labor camp suffer both physically and spiritually. They are coerced to write the so-called "three statements of guarantee" once again.

Liu Yuanying and Huang Ping were illegally arrested while clarifying truth of Falun Dafa at home on August 25, 2001. Before the Lunar Chinese New Year in 2003, they were illegally sentenced. Liu Yuanying was sentenced to seven years in prison; Huang Ping was sentenced to four years.

Jing Hongchi, director of the Nanhanchun Police Substation, in Mancheng County, Hebei Province, has actively persecuted Falun Dafa practitioners since he was transferred to Nanhanchun Township last year. Especially during the "Two Conferences" this year, together with relevant officers in the township government, he organized, forced, lured, and threatened cadres from each village to form a team that searched for Falun Dafa practitioners. They waited day and night at the main entrance of each village for Falun Dafa practitioners in order to get promoted and rewarded. They were paid 50 Yuan per day, per person.

Fang Fujun, deputy Party Secretary of Nanhanchun Township, Mancheng County, Hebei Province, organized, forced, lured, and threatened cadres from each village to form a team searching for Falun Dafa practitioners, together with relevant people from the local police substation.

Falun Dafa practitioner Fang Lei was arrested on March 14. His living place was searched, which caused a great loss to Dafa. Furthermore, he had his telephone address book with him when he was arrested. We remind fellow practitioners to use caution and consider the safety issue if they have contact with him.

Practitioner Li Guanghou and his family (three in all) were illegally arrested on March 15. Their whereabouts are as yet unknown.

Since February, over ten material sites have been sabotaged, with dozens of destitute and homeless practitioners arrested. Two practitioners died and one was severely wounded while jumping from a tall building in order to avoid illegal detention. Several material sites had to shut down. This was an unprecedented and severe situation affecting Fa-rectification in Harbin City.

Qu Chaoyun, around 45 years old, is a laboratory technician from the Food Institute of the South-West Agricultural University. He was arrested on November 19, 2001 for attending a Fa Conference held in Xiema Township of the Beipei Area. After over a year's detention in the Beipei Detention House, he was illegally sentenced to a three year jail term. He is currently being detained in the Male Forced Labor Farm in Yongchuan City of Chongqing City.

Jiang Pai, female, 28 years old, is an employee from the Heat & Power Plant of the Daqing General Petroleum Chemical Plant. She was laid off in October 2000 for her belief in Falun Dafa.

At noon of January 23, 2001, she was illegally detained at Tian'anmen Square for peacefully appealing for Falun Dafa. She was kept in the Chongwenqu Detention Center, where she went on a hunger strike for about ten days. She was later released unconditionally because she was found during a medical examination to have severe health problems.

On April 25, 2002, in an attempt to arrest Jiang Pai, police from the Changxi Police Substation in the Longfeng Area of Daqing City broke into Jiang Pai's home without any legal process. Since Jiang Pai was not at home, the police failed to arrest her. Since then, Jiang has become destitute and homeless to avoid being persecuted. However, the police keep harassing her family without exception, even on January 31, 2003 (the Lunar Chinese New Year Eve) and on February 14, 2003 (the Chinese Lantern Festival, a family reunion festival). They attempted to learn her whereabouts from her family members by means of deception and threats. The authorities from the Heat and Power Plant have phoned her family members many times in attempts to find her. Her family members are suffering under great pressure and misery.

Before the "Two Conferences," the "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems], the police department and the police substations in Yi County started a new round of persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners. On Feburuary 18, a big search was conducted. Around 7:00 p.m. that day, practitioners Zhou Dexiang (female), Chen Wenli (male), and Shi Changlin (male) were abducted from their homes. They are currently being detained. Six practitioners from Jiudaoling Town in Yi County were forcibly abducted and detained on the same day. On the afternoon of March 4, practitioner Guo Ying (female) was arrested at her home and detained.

Practitioner "A" was placed under house arrest for 5 days, detained for 16 days in 1999. In 2001, he (she) was detained for another 16 days, extorted 2000 Yuan (equal to four months' average income of an ordinary worker in China), and dismissed from his (her) job.
Practitioner "B" was detained for two months in 1999. Before the detention, he was beaten up by police from the Qianmen Police Substation in Beijing, extorted of 2000 Yuan, and his home was illegally searched.
Practitioner "C" was detained in the local police substation for 24 hours, and extorted of 1000 Yuan. His (her) family was searched three times. He (she) was abused and beaten during the detention.
Practitioner "D" was detained for half a day, and extorted of 1000 Yuan. His (her) family was searched.
Practitioner "E" was placed under house arrest for 2 days, detained for 10 days, and brainwashed in a forced labor camp for two years. He (she) was extorted of 450 Yuan. His (her) home was searched twice. During detention, he (she) was subjected to medical torture, which caused him (her) mental injury.
Practitioner "F" was extorted of 3000 Yuan. His (her) home was searched twice.
Practitioner "G" was watched for 24 hours a day for three consecutive days, and then detained for 36 days. His (her) home was illegally searched.
Practitioner "H" was illegally sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp. His (her) daughter was sentenced to two years in a forced labor camp as well. His (her) daughter-in-law was sentenced to two years in the Masanjia Forced Labor Camp. His (her) home was searched.
Practitioner "J" was sentenced to forced labor reeducation for two years, and had 6000 Yuan extorted from him(her) as a fine.
