(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioners Shi Zhongyan and Zhu Feng were illegally sentenced two years of forced labor because they are determined in their belief. They didn't give up their cultivation. They have already been detained for 32 months. In January 2003, their terms were extended for another two months because they resisted attempts to brainwash them.
Shi Zhongyan, male, 45 years old, from Anleli, Linghe District, Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province, was an employee of Jinzhou City General Merchandise Building. On October 29, 1999, Shi Zhongyan went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong but he was arrested by officers from Jinzhou City Police Department and detained in Jinzhou City Detention Center. After fifty-six days, Linghe District Political and Law Committee officials extorted 2,000 Yuan [500 Yuan is the average monthly income in urban areas of China] from his family and released him on December 26, 2000.
On June 20, 2000, Dafa practitioners Shi Zhongyan, Li Huanbao, Yue Xuefeng and Zhu Feng went to Beijing to appeal. On June 21, officers from Beijing Police Department arrested them at Tiananmen Square. The same day, the people from Linghe District Police Department and the Lingan Police Station ransacked Shi Zhongyan's home. They then sent people to Beijing to take Shi Zhongyan back and detained him at Jinzhou City No. 2 Detention Center.
On July 27, 2000, Shi Zhongyan was illegally sentenced to two years of forced labor in Jinzhou City Forced Labor Camp. Because Shi Zhongyan practiced the Falun Gong exercises in the New Detainee Division, he was assigned to the No. 5 Division to perform heavy labor and had to work 12 hours daily, sometimes even 20 hours. There were often no breaks on Sundays or holidays. Liu Jun was the chief of the No. 5 Division. After finishing work in the evening, the guards would brainwash the practitioners. The guards and other inmates often brutally beat Dafa practitioners. Guard Gao Yang beat Shi Zhongyan so brutally several times that one of his ear drums became perforated and he almost lost his hearing. Gao Yang also used lit cigarettes to burn all ten of Dafa practitioner Li Kai's fingernails.
In October 2000, Ling Bingzhi, deputy head of Liaoning Province Justice Department led some collaborators [former Falun Gong practitioners who have gone astray due to brainwashing and torture] from the Masanjia Labor Camp to persecute Dafa practitioners in Jingzhou. On October 16, Zhang Haiping, political chief of the labor camp, and Jin Fuli, deputy chief of the labor camp put practitioners who didn't accept brainwashing in the "strictly monitored" team, and personally ordered guard Liu Tielin to torture Dafa practitioners. From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Dafa practitioners were punished to sit on a stool, with both hands on their knees, both legs closed, back straight, no moving and no talking, while making them listen to recordings that slandered Dafa, all day long. In addition, the practitioners were restricted to no more than three restroom breaks per day. They were monitored by common prisoners around the clock.
On November 1, 2000, the brainwashing team was set up in the labor camp. Practitioner Shi Zhongyan was continuously and strictly monitored. The labor camp officials deprived the firm Dafa practitioners of visits with their relatives. At the beginning of 2001, common prisoner Wang Dianwu beat Shi Zhongyan for doing the exercises.
In the evening of February 12, 2001, Shi Zhongyan and five other practitioners were reciting the Fa when guard Yang Tinglun broke in. He grasped Wang Guiling's collar and pulled him out. Criminal inmates were instigated to beat and kick the Dafa practitioners. Shi Zhongyan was knocked down to the floor.
At 4:00 p.m. on February 13, political chief Zhang Haiping, and deputy chief Jin Fuli led dozens of guards in person to forcibly separate Shi Zhongyan and five other practitioners. Two guards held one practitioner and put on handcuffs. Later, two guards in turn monitored each practitioner. They were handcuffed even when eating or going to the restroom. The guards did not retreat until one month later. Shi Zhongyan was put in a cell with the collaborators. Common prisoner Wang Dianwu beat Shi Zhongyan several times and he had his term reduced and was released a half year before his due date because of his "achievement" in persecuting Dafa practitioners.
In April and May 2001, Dafa practitioner Wang Zhongyan refused to wear a prisoner's vest and refused to obey an order to sit on a stool. The guards shocked him with electrical batons. He was transferred to the "strictly monitor team" of the New Detainee Division. Shi Zhongyan protested with a hunger strike for more than 20 days. He was cuffed on an iron chair and fed through a tube forced into his stomach through his nose.
Since September 2002, Jinzhou Labor Camp officials madly persecuted Dafa practitioners and brainwashed determined ones. They used high voltage electric-shock batons, sleep deprivation, wooden boards to beat their faces, forced them to sit on small wooden stools in fixed positions for long periods of time, brutal beatings, and other atrocities to torture Dafa practitioners.
They detained practitioners who were to receive the most excruciating torture in separate cells to allow the collaborators to beleaguer them. Sometimes, the guards would not let Dafa practitioners sleep for several days and nights. Whenever they would close their eyes, they were shocked with the electric batons or slapped with wooden boards. Shi Zhongyan should have been released in June 2002 after two years but is still being detained. His release is long overdue.
Zhu Feng, male, 32 years old, college graduate, lived at Shanxi Street in Guta District in Jinzhou City. On June 20, 2000, Zhu Feng and Shi Zhongyan went to Beijing for a peaceful appeal. On June 21, Zhu Feng was arrested at Tiananmen Square. Persons from Guta District Jinhua police station in Jinzhou City brought him back and detained him in the local detention center for 15 days. Fifteen days later, Jinhua police station officials extorted 1,000 Yuan from Zhu Feng's family. Later, Zhu Feng was sent to a brainwashing class where he protested with a hunger strike. Three days later, he was sent Jinzhou City No. 1 Detention Center because he refused to give up his belief in Falun Dafa. Zhu Feng was almost tortured to death at the detention center. His whole body was black and blue. On July 31, 2000, Zhu Feng was illegally sentenced two years of forced labor at Jinzhou City Labor Camp where he was assigned to the No. 6 Division to do heavy labor. His experience was similar to Shi Zhongyan's.
By the end of September 2000, the persecution against Falun Gong at the labor camp escalated more and more. Over 30 Falun Gong practitioners signed a joint letter to the political chief, Zhang Haiping, to call for a stop to the persecution against Falun Gong practitioners. On October 2, Zhang Haiping sent Zhu Feng to a separate cell for doing the Falun Gong exercises. He was forced to sit on a stool from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and was given only two meals a day. On October 16, 2000, Zhang Haiping and deputy chief Jin Fuli put those practitioners who didn't accept brainwashing under "strict control" and ordered guard Liu Tielin to persecute Dafa practitioners. Jin Fuli said, "We will popularize the experiences in the Masanjia Labor Camp and forcibly reform you." During that period, Zhu Feng and other firm Dafa practitioners suffered brutal tortures. In June 2002, Zhu Feng's forced labor term was up, but he is still detained, well beyond the release date.
