Canada: Montreal Falun Dafa Practitioners Rally in Chinatown to Oppose Chinese Authorities' Show Trial (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) At 3 pm on March 23, 2003, Montreal Falun Dafa practitioners rallied in Chinatown to strongly condemn the Chinese authorities unconstitutional trial against a United States citizen and urge the Chinese authorities to immediately and unconditionally release Charles Li.

At the rally, Montreal practitioners condemn the Chinese authorities' accusations.	Banners unfurled at the rally.	Passersby study the display boards.

At the rally, a statement from all Dafa practitioners in Montreal was read in Mandarin, English and Cantonese. The statement pointed out, "Today, we are holding arally here to strongly condemn that Jiang Zeming's political gang of scoundrel used fabrications to wantonly detain and unconstitutionally try an American citizen, Falun Gong practitioner, Dr. Charles Li. We urge the Chinese authorities to immediately and unconditionally set Dr. Li free." A practitioner representative stated in his speech, "It is Jiang Zemin who makes a mockery of the Chinese law and ignores international law. The vicious action of openly bullying foreign citizen's freedom of belief cannot be acknowledged at all."

At the rally, practitioners also told the story of Charles Li's arrest and imprisonment.

During the rally, a number of placards introducing Charles Li's and Shanghai practitioner, Lin Mingli's plight were also displayed, and drew much attention from passersby.
