Dafa Practitioner Li Jianhou, Former Committee Member of the Nanchong People's Political Consultative Conference, Tortured to Death in Deyang Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) On March 27, 2003, Mr. Li Jianhou, a 67-year-old Falun Dafa practitioner from Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, was tortured to death in the Deyang Prison in Sichuan Province. When Mr. Li served in the army, he received many awards for his contributions. He was once appointed to a position of a cadre of the rank of regimental commander. After he was transferred to civilian work in Nanchong City, he worked as the deputy manager general and secretary of the Party Committee of the Nanchong Municipal Agricultural Trade Company. He was also a committee member of the Nanchong People's Political Consultative Conference.

Mr. Li had been illegally abducted and imprisoned four times by the local "610 Office" (an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems). In July 2000, he went to Beijing to appeal for Falun Gong. As a result, he was detained for 15 days. In January 2001, he was sentenced to one year of forced labor (he was allowed to serve his term outside the jail). In November 2001, because he explained the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution to people, he was detained as a criminal. In June 2002, he was abducted by the "610 Office" and sentenced to 3 years in prison on December 23, 2002. He was held in Deyang Prison in Sichuan Province. On March 27, 2003, he died as a result of persecution.

Mr. Li Jianhou's wife, Ms. Zhang Qingfen, also a Dafa practitioner has been arrested by the local 610 Office three times and sentenced to one year of forced labor (she was also allowed to serve the term outside the labor camp). On December 23, 2002, when the Dafa practitioners were put on a show trial, Zhang Qingfen and other practitioners shouted loudly in the court, "Falun Dafa is good!" She was taken away on the spot and sent to a detention center. To this day, she is still not aware of her husband's death.

It was reported that on March 31, 2003, the Shunqing district court in Nanchong City once again put Dafa practitioners, Li Rong and He Xuehua on trial. We ask all practitioners who hear this news, to please send forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil factors in other dimensions that are controlling Nanchong City.
