Jinan (pseudonym) is a teacher from a university in Northeast China. After he obtained the Fa in 1996, with the help of fellow practitioners, he established a Falun Gong practice site at the university. After April 25, 1999, he did his best to validate and rectify the Fa; his selflessness and courage greatly encouraged fellow practitioners. Jinan was arrested in 2001 and illegally detained in an infamous and evil labor camp. He was inhumanly abused because of his firm faith in Dafa and his non-cooperation with the evil. He was once locked in a hot-water boiler room for a month during steamy summer days, and lost consciousness many times as a result.

Jinan started seeking the truth about life when he was a college student. He became very excited after reading Zhuan Falun in 1996, and immediately vowed to cultivate until the very end. Before April 25, 1999, he traveled to many parts of China during summer breaks. He brought Falun Dafa everywhere he went, and set up Falun Gong practice sites everywhere. He tells many touching stories about his travels.

After July 20, 1999, Jiang's regime started the nationwide arrests of Dafa practitioners. In a detention center for criminals who are sentenced to long-term or death penalties, Jinan endured great suffering to spread Falun Dafa and hope to those desperate criminals using his firm faith in Dafa, righteous thoughts, and wisdom. All the criminals there were deeply moved by Jinan's touching truth-clarifying efforts, as he was full of great aspirations while minding minor details.

Because of his effort, the cell head decided to dedicate the daily "sitting period" of several hours as truth-telling time, asking Dafa practitioners to talk about Falun Dafa. People's minds that were lost in the maze started to become sober. As a result, whenever the TV broadcasted any news slandering Dafa, the whole cell would complain, "No, no, we don't want to watch this!" As soon as Jinan held one palm erect to send forth righteous thoughts, many criminals would silently follow him, erecting their palms.

One day, a person who had betrayed Dafa was sent to the cell. Afraid of torture, he shouted "Falun Gong is xxxx" [slanderous words omitted] as soon as he entered the cell. Before Jinan said anything, several criminals stopped him and said, "Falun Gong it so good, how could you say that!" Later, Jinan learned that this person was a former Falun Gong coordinator of a city in northwest China, and he had suffered all kinds of vicious torture for validating Dafa. He could not endure the torture any longer and had betrayed Dafa under a traitor's inducement from the Xinan Labor Camp in Beijing. A dozen days later, through Jinan's great effort of telling him the facts about Dafa and revealing the lies behind the evil enlightening, the person realized his mistake. Happy that he was back to Dafa, he cried with Jinan. Soon he announced to the labor camp his decision to practice Falun Dafa once again. Before he left, with tears in his eyes he repeatedly asked Jinan that if Jinan was released, to please publish a solemn statement [reaffirming his belief in Falun Dafa] on Clearwisdom.net for him.

March 15, 2003 was the last day of Jinan's sentence. However, the police planned to further persecute him in order to force him to give up Dafa. Dear fellow practitioners, let us send forth powerful righteous thoughts together to help our detained practitioners be released, and completely deny the evil arrangements by the old forces.
