Korean Dafa Practitioners Welcome Another Spring with Righteous Thoughts and Righteous Actions

(Clearwisdom.net) From January 13 to March 31, 2003, the Korean government conducted extended-stay registrations for foreigners who had illegally entered and resided in Korea for less than three years. To take advantage of this opportunity to clarify the truth, Korean Falun Gong practitioners carefully prepared and organized activities that extended over seventy days.

The Chinese people who are eligible to register usually have resided in Korea for less than three years, so they are more likely to have been deeply poisoned by the lies about Falun Gong. Therefore the practitioners made truth-clarifying materials that focused on the lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, the establishment of the "World Organization for Investigating the Persecution of Falun Gong," and an interview with the lawyer. This was very effective.

Every morning, practitioners arrived in front of the government office building, hung up banners, set up photo displays, and showed "The Truth about Falun Gong" videos. Any Chinese who came to register saw the banners "Falun Dafa is Good" and "Jiang Is Being Prosecuted Overseas and Could Be Arrested if He Leaves China" from far away. They were surprised to see the news of the lawsuits against Jiang. Some of them were skeptical, others doubtful, so the practitioners explained while distributing materials. Some Chinese crowded around the practitioners to listen intently, some surrounded the TV set to watch the video exposing the truth of the "self-immolation," some looked at the photos very carefully from beginning to the end. Although we distributed between a hundred and a thousand copies a day, very few people threw any of our materials away. They purposefully put them into their bags, and some even asked for several copies to take back for their relatives and friends.

Once while I was passing out information flyers, a Chinese man kept asking questions such as, "Why did the peaceful appeal of April 25^th lead to the staged Tiananmen self-immolation? Why did the peaceful spread of Falun Dafa lead to evil persecution? Why?" From time to time, many people surrounded us and listened with great seriousness. They were bewildered and indignant that Jiang's regime had adopted such contemptuous and malicious policies to kill and deceive the Chinese people. With tears in his eyes a Chinese man said to me, "History and humankind will remember you people. You will become the titans of history!" At his words, my eyes became wet, too. I recalled how in the past we had been met with cold stares, sneers, and abuse from everyday people and even intimidation from spies. But we had not deviated from our path. We did what we should do as always. Our only wish remains to expose the lies and save the people. Today I see more and more people stand by justice and virtue; I feel happy that they can know the truth.

Another time when I was telling the facts to a Chinese man, he said, "I do not believe in your practice very much. But I believe it is correct to be a good person." I said, "Cultivation emphasizes the predestined relationship. I have the freedom of belief, you have the freedom of not believing, and this is true freedom of belief. But Jiang's regime has utilized all kinds of cruel means to persecute the people who believe in 'Truthfulness, Compassion, Tolerance.' Is this safeguarding the right of freedom of belief endowed by the Constitution?" He smiled and said, "Good people will receive rewards. I wish you people success!" He took many materials when he left.

During this period of time the weather was very cold. In spite of blustery winds and snow, the practitioners insisted on clarifying the truth every day. Their faces were red from the freezing cold, their hands stiff, and their feet numb, but they still passed out flyers to one person after another. They stayed for the entire day. When the weather was extremely cold, other practitioners who were extremely busy also came to help out. One day it started to sleet really hard. Distributing flyers was almost impossible, but the practitioners didn't complain, they just kept talking to people in spite of the sleet and crowds. That measure of devotion and sincerity gained people's admiration. They accepted our flyers politely. Rarely did anyone ever throw a flyer away. Some practitioners had to ride a bus several hours to join the activity. In the afternoon when we tried to persuade them to go home early, they said, "That's OK, just as long as we can catch the last bus." One practitioner always brought the pictures and materials to the site early every morning and hung up the banners. After we finished very late, he then tied them up carefully and carried them home. All of the practitioners showed that they were doing these things sincerely from their hearts.

On January 31, overseas Chinese gathered together to celebrate the Spring Festival. Fellow practitioners arrived at the site to prepare at 3 pm. All along the two-kilometer route from the subway station to the site of the celebration, practitioners pasted pictures of Falun Gong and hung up over 20 Dafa banners. This visual display also served to guide people to their destination and won their praise. In an open area close to the celebration, we also set up a TV set and a big-screen projector to play the truth-clarifying video in two places. Some practitioners practiced the exercise and sent forth righteous thoughts while others distributed materials and VCD's. At the gate to the celebration, we discovered that some person was confiscating the flyers from many people's hands. So we decided to distribute them again after the celebration finished. In the cold wind, we practitioners stood beside the road to practice the exercises, send forth righteous thoughts, and send sincere, heartfelt greetings to Teacher and our fellow practitioners: Happy New Year!

Not until 9 pm did the celebration end. When the people found us waiting just to pass them the truth-clarifying materials, when they saw our red and frozen faces lit up with kind smiles, they were deeply moved and accepted our materials with a friendly thanks.

Practitioners welcome another spring maintaining righteous thoughts and righteous behavior. Facing the final madness of the evil, practitioners will follow the teaching of Master Li, "Do well what you should to do. This predestined opportunity is hard to come by. Cherish all of this, there won't be a next time. Developing any attachment will ruin you halfway along! Don't entertain or get attached to any human thoughts, and just do what a Dafa disciple should do. Everything that's wonderful, that's the most magnificent, and that's the most glorious awaits you!
