95 Regional Councils Pass Resolutions Urging the Japanese Government to Urgently Rescue Falun Gong Practitioner Yoko Kaneko

(Clearwisdom.net)

As of May 6, 2003, 95 regional councils, including Higashikurume Tokyo-to, Yachiyo Chiba County, Moriya City of Ibaraki County , and Masuda Shimane County, have passed a resolution urging the Japanese government to act immediately to rescue Japanese Falun Gong practitioner Yoko Kaneko, who is being illegally detained by Jiang's political regime. This resolution was presented to each regional council by Mr. Ooya Takusi, a councillor in Kakogava City of Kansai Area, last December.

The resolution says, "To this day, many innocent Falun Gong practitioners are suffering indescribable inhumane torture and interrogation tactics, and hundreds have been persecuted to death by the Public Security officers in China. The safety of Yoko Kaneko, who is illegally detained by the Chinese authority, is also in jeopardy. The Japanese citizens are greatly concerned about Ms. Yoko Kaneko's condition and are anxiously looking forward to her rescue as soon as possible."

According to Legislation 99 of the Japanese Local Self-government Law, the resolution passed by each local council will be submitted to the Japanese government, parliament, and other relevant departments.

In the past 4 months, along with the continuous efforts of Japanese practitioners in clarifying the truth, more kind-hearted Japanese people and local governments have a deeper understanding about the extent of the persecution of Falun Gong initiated by Jiang's regime, and more Japanese people have joined the efforts to rescue Yoko Kaneko. Such kind and just actions have not only provided great assistance for Yoko's early return, but also established a good foundation for their wonderful futures. We believe the Japanese government will actively respond to these kind and just voices.
