World Falun Dafa Day Celebration at the Missouri State Capitol (Photos)

(Clearwisdom.net) "Celebrating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance with Music, Song, and Dance" was this year's theme of Missouri Falun Dafa practitioner's celebration of World Falun Dafa Day. The event was held in the Missouri state capitol building in Jefferson City, Missouri on May 13, 2003. The concert featured vocal solos, violin and clarinet solos, and traditional Chinese dance performances. Practitioners also presented the Missouri Governor's proclamation for "World Falun Dafa Month" for the month of May. In addition, a college student from the University of Missouri presented a resolution issued by the student government, which condemned the human rights violations of Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Practitioners performed the concert inside the capitol building, then moved the celebration outdoors for more music, dance, and exercise demonstrations. In addition to the colorful banners, signs, and balloons, a large 6'X 8' balloon that read, "Falun Gong Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance" was displayed on the Capitol steps and lawn.

Although the wind and clouds threatened to bring a storm, the practitioners paid no attention and happily set up the decorations, truth-clarifying materials and music equipment. Meanwhile, a few practitioners presented a "World Falun Dafa Day" magnet attached to a greeting card to each government office in the Capitol building to say "thank you" for their support.

With righteous thoughts, the outdoor concert celebration turned out to be a great success. A reporter from the Jefferson City News Tribune attended as well as reporters from New Tang Dynasty TV and Epoch Times.
