By practitioners in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic

(Clearwisdom.net May 16, 2003) During the Sixth International Book Fair, celebrated in the city of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from the 24^th of April to the 5^th of May, Falun Dafa practitioners hosted an exhibition booth and handed out a great amount of introductory flyers and newspapers clarifying the truth of Falun Dafa. From the first day, our eye-catching banner with the Falun emblem and the Chinese characters "Zhen-Shan-Ren" (Truthfulness - Benevolence - Tolerance) as well as our video presentation of exercise instruction given by our respected Master Li Hongzhi, attracted the attention of many of the thousands of attendees to the Fair.

Many people approached us to learn more about this practice.  Many of the visitors wished to learn the exercises, and many others were so delighted and amazed after merely reading the three universal characters of "Truthfulness - Benevolence - Tolerance".  Almost all of the people who came into contact with our booth agreed and stated that this practice is very good, and they also wished to learn it, which shows that in our country there are a considerable number of kind hearted people who are able to recognize the wonderful nature of Falun Dafa.

These are some of our experiences in distributing truth-clarification materials, our conversations with people from all walks of life, and many other situations that came about in this important event.

Righteousness of Everyday People

1. One of our fellow practitioners gave a pair of flyers to two adolescent students.  They took the materials and continued walking down the street as they read them. One of them folded a flyer and tried to throw it to the ground, but when the other saw this she said to her: "Don't throw it away, I read it and it is very good. Save it because it is very important..."

2. When seeing our banner, one lady read out the characters, "Truthfulness - Compassion - Tolerance".  With some astonishment and curiosity she approached our booth to ask us questions about the practice.  When explaining to her how we could become better people by following these principles, she hit it on the mark by saying: "...this is what people need. The morality of people can change if they behave this way... "

3. We gave a young man a flyer. When taking it in his hands and even before reading it, he exclaimed happily: "Thanks! What a most important thing you have given me...!"

At around 2 pm on the 4^th of May, I received a cellular phone call from another practitioner, who at that time was outside the Plaza of the Conservatory, the place where the Book Fair was held. He said to me: "Have you looked in the sky?" I responded no, I had not, because I was inside the booth. "I'll go out and see", I told him. "There is a large ring around the sun", he said. When looking at the sky, a little towards the west, we noticed a gigantic circle around the sun, the borders of which had a diffuse rainbow and a reddish tinge.

Conversation with a visitor of the Sixth International Book Fair

Visitor: What is this practice about?

Practitioner: This is a practice based on principles and exercises.  The principles are: "Truthfulness - Compassion -- Tolerance." I explained to him that he was looking at the symbol of a Falun.

Visitor: But you practice Taoism? I see the symbols of Taiji.

Practitioner: We really consider that these principles: Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance are the fundamental principles of the universe.  They are the basis of everything. - I explained to him about the principles that make up the Tao School as well as those of the Buddha School. I added that we practice a system that integrates all three principles, which is why our practice is a very advanced one and of a high level.

Visitor: So this is a microcosm of the universe!

Practitioner: Yes, these principles truly summarize the universe and its evolution.  Everything evolves according to these principles.

Visitor: These exercises are very special. It feels like that harmony is within them. I feel the integration of the principles with the practice in each movement.  That gives it the power.

Practitioner: That is for sure. These movements are integrated with each one of the principles. That is the reason why it has a great effect on the whole body, health and morality.

Later we showed the video "Return to our original true self", and one of the visitors said, "Wow! How beautiful and harmonious these exercises are!" When seeing the amount of people around the world and in China who practice, and the many recognitions given to the practice, the visitor looked towards the horizon and in a low voice said, "It's as if people had been waiting for this!"

In the end the visitor was very happy with the practice and thankful for all the time we dedicated to her both in making explanations and in teaching the exercises.  We gave her a copy of the book. She promised that she would practice it and that she would also ask her brother who is in Cuba to practice.
