Kaifeng, China: Practitioners Deng Jieshi and Li Jinye Are Illegally Sentenced to Four Years In Prison

(Clearwisdom.net) Dafa practitioners Deng Jieshi (male) and Li Jinye (female) from Kaifeng City were tried secretly, and illegally sentenced to 4 years jail terms.

On the evening of September 26, 2002, the police in Kaifeng City launched a massive arrest of Falun Dafa practitioners. When Deng was arrested, Li Jinye happened to be at his home and was also arrested, and they were held in a detention center. In the middle of March 2003, the Nanguan District Court tried them secretly, accusing them of having truth-clarifying materials at Den's home.

Because Li Jinye has heart disease and high blood pressure, according to the law she was bailed out from the detention center for medical treatment. She was released in the middle of December 2002, but instead of being sent home, she was put into the brainwashing center at Allowance Institute in Kaifeng City. Li Jinye was very weak and couldn't walk normally. In early April 2003, authorities transferred her to Xinxiang City Female Prison without even notifying her family members. According to inside sources, Li Jinye appealed for her case, but on April 18, 2003 the Middle Class Court of Kaifeng City decided to keep the original sentence, without even conducting any court procedures.
