A Police Officer Says, "Falun Dafa Is So Marvelous"

I am a police officer who used to consider himself a very sophisticated man. When Jiang started to suppress Falun Gong, I also drifted with the tide and joined the ranks of those following the order to persecute Falun Gong.

However, if it were not my job, I would not perform such a duty against my will, because my mother is a Falun Gong practitioner, too. Although the media is full of the reports about how Falun Gong teaches people to commit "self-immolation," "suicide" or "homicide," etc, I don't believe what they have said. Casually I read a bit of Falun Gong books, and found no such things as "anti-humanity," "anti-science," "with ulterior motives" etc, which are claimed by TV propaganda. These books only teach people to be good.

In mid-August 2000, my mother suddenly felt extremely uncomfortable. Out of our concern, my wife and I forced her to go to the hospital for an examination. Under our coercion, she had to go there and take a CT examination. After the result came out, a doctor told us that there was a 1.2-inch--long and 0.41-inch-wide tumor in her lung. The hospital decided to schedule an operation to remove it in 3 days.

On that day, my father and I helped mother to get ready for the operation. My wife is a doctor in that hospital, and she had been waiting for us there. Routinely every patient should be re-examined before operation. To our surprise, however, the re-examination showed that the tumor in my mother's lung had disappeared completely. We were puzzled greatly and asked the doctors if they were serious with the conclusion. They confirmed: "It is true, and we never joke on such a matter. She is okay now, and you can take her back home." We believed that when my wife, who is an expert in medicine, reassured us. Later, my wife told me that the doctors themselves were puzzled too and called it a "miracle."

Happily we were home. At that moment, I could not help shouting out: "Falun Gong is so marvelous!" I would not have believed what happened, had I not experienced it by myself. I said to my father: "Why don't you practice Falun Gong too? You see mother has saved so many medical expenses these years. The tumor disappeared suddenly after it was clearly determined in her lung. If you practice Falun Gong, I'd fully support you."

As a matter of fact, all my mother's lingering illnesses throughout the years have disappeared since she started practicing Falun Gong. Moreover, she is happier than ever. Whenever she has leisure time, she is always reading the book Zhuan Falun, which is so precious to her. As her son, it is also happiness for the children if the mother has good health. Since July 20^th, 1999, the authorities have used whatever means available to eradicate Falun Gong. However, instead of being weakened, more and more people have begun to learn Falun Gong, and Falun Gong is becoming more and more popular everywhere. Falun Gong practitioners never resort to any violent activity and are always peaceful. There are so many Falun Gong practitioners like that in our city. I never saw a "terrorist group" that was like this. The media in China really overdid the propaganda.

In the police department, I told my subordinates not to treat Falun Gong practitioners harshly because these practitioners did benefit a lot from the practice. I told them the true story of my mother and that they should not to be taken in by what the media said.

Please forgive me for not divulging my real identity here, because my superiors are still nervous about Falun Gong. They have been at their wits' end in the suppression. I sincerely hope that all my police colleagues will be able to understand Falun Gong, too.
