Japan: Account of Car Tour in Akita County (Photos) By a Falun Dafa practitioner in Japan
(Clearwisdom.net June 21, 2003) From June 12 to 15, 2003, we held a car tour
in Akita County to explain the facts of Falun Dafa to the county government and
held a press conference. We would like to share our experiences with fellow
practitioners. At the press conference, reporters asked questions about Yoko Kaneko and the
rescue committee. One reporter asked many questions on Falun Gong, and we
answered them in detail. At the same time, I think we should explain the facts
of Falun Gong in more detail and thoroughly to reporters, as well as exposing
the Jiang regime's persecution. June 14 and 15 were Saturday and Sunday, and we planned to hold a signature
collection. The permit needed to be applied for a few days earlier. We went to
the police station after 4:00 pm on June 13 to do this, along with sending forth
righteous thoughts. The practitioners explained the reason of our visit and why
we failed to apply earlier. We also learned that beside the road permit we
needed the permit of business street association, too. After the practitioners
clarified the truth and sent forth righteous thoughts, everything went smoothly,
and we obtained the permit for the best location within 30 minutes. We were
moved by the great power of righteous thoughts and our Master's great
compassion. During the signature collection, there were many touching stories. As there
was no Falun Gong practitioner in Akita County, near 90% people did not know
about Falun Gong or Yoko Kaneko's arrest in China. We felt the urgency of
explaining the facts and saving sentient beings. For each person, we briefly
introduced Falun Gong and the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in China,
and asked local residents to have more people be aware of the persecution. Some
residents who had known the truth helped those practitioners who did not speak
Japanese well to explain the facts and collect signatures. Some stood beside us
and appealed for more people to sign. Some tried to donate money, but we
declined and thanked them for their kind thoughts. Some showed interest in Falun
Gong and left their telephone numbers. On June 14, we distributed near 4,000
newsletters and collected more than 700 signatures. During this car tour, we found shortcomings that we need to improve on,
though we had good results from clarifying the truth. Posting date: 6/22/2003
