My Experience of Calling People in China to Clarify the Truth

The most important thing, from my experience, is studying the Fa. Whenever I study the Fa well, it will go smoothly when I call China. While making calls, I can feel my righteous thoughts are very strong, my heart is completely for the well being of others and I only think in my heart how to save others. On the other hand, if I fail to study the Fa well, my righteous thoughts are not so strong. Then when I make calls, I feel awkward. The words I speak seem a little insincere and are not righteous. I deeply realize what Teacher said:

"Your righteous thoughts and everything you accomplish come from the Fa" ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Philadelphia, U.S.A.").

"When you do well in the Fa-rectification, I can see that it's always because you are able to understand the Fa from the Fa; and when you do somewhat poorly, I can see that it's because you aren't making a priority of Fa-study and you aren't able to understand the Fa from the Fa." ("Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston").

For a period of time, I had been attached to starting phone conversations with info about the SARS epidemic. Usually, I told people SARS was prevalent, and I was very worried about it, so I hoped I could do something to help them. I told them how to keep a good state of mind and then I mentioned that practicing Falun Gong could help enhance their immunity. However, often at this time I did not have anything more to say. I felt that I was limited by the SARS epidemic and my phone call did not achieve the result of exposing the evil, which puzzled me. Later on, when I shared my experience with another practitioner, I realized that we should not be attached to the specific means we use to clarify the truth. Meanwhile, I saw it from Teacher's Fa:

"You're all clear on the purpose of clarifying the facts, which is to expose the evil persecution, and let the world's people know and let the universe's sentient beings know. While you're clarifying here, layers upon layers of your bodies that have completed cultivation are also clarifying at different levels of cosmic bodies. You must expose the persecution and the evil drama, and let the world's people see it clearly, and this too is suppressing it and eliminating it. Clarifying the facts is most powerful, and it's an act of grand compassion since this persecution is completely based on lies and deception." ("Lecturing on and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference")

Later on when I made phone calls, I would directly tell them that I am an overseas Chinese in the U.S. and I'd like to tell them some important news: I read in the newspaper that Jiang was being sued for genocide. When I open the conversation like this, I feel that I have struck the heart of the evil all at once. Then, I continue to talk about how Falun Gong practitioners in China are being persecuted and how the Jiang regime utilizes national resources to persecute Falun Gong. In addition, I express that the persecution really pains me. Besides, my talk is spiced with the so-called self-immolation, the situation of SARS and the situation of Dafa promotion around the world.

Some people also ask: "Why did you call me?" I say that as an overseas Chinese, I also care very much for our country. When I see such things happening, I hope I can do my bit to stop this as quickly as possible to reduce the loss. Sometimes they would ask some questions. I tell them the answers strictly according to facts and help them analyze for themselves.

Occasionally, I also chat on some common people's topics. One day, when a girl learned I am a Ph.D. in the United States, she was full of admiration. I told her that actually, these things are not that important. The key is that one should be a good person and that good people will have peaceful lives. Then I suggested that she treasure the time well, study well, and I explained all the reasons for being a good person. Later on, she told me she met a person of high skill outside of this world. Certainly, our Dafa practitioners are all people of high skill outside of this world.

Usually it is a bit difficult for me to make up my mind to pick up the phone. However, as long as I pick up the phone, my righteous thoughts come out. Every phone call is a test for me to improve. If I study the Fa well, my righteous thoughts are very strong. When my righteous thoughts come out, I feel the other party under the influence of my righteous thoughts and there is no room for the evil old force to get in. Their bad thoughts are restrained as well. I really feel "the Buddha-light illuminates everywhere and rectifies all abnormalities." Our righteous thoughts may rectify all abnormal states. If my state of mind is unstable, for example, if I doubt myself and am not full of confidence, they are also easily controlled by the bad thoughts and the effects are not very good.

When my righteous thoughts are very strong, my benevolence comes out spontaneously. "The immeasurable and countless Buddhas, Daos, and Gods in the cosmos and the beings in even larger cosmic bodies are all watching everything on this tiny speck of dust in the cosmos." (Essentials for Further Advancement II: "Towards Consummation"). I deeply feel that I have an important responsibility. Countless beings are waiting for us to save them.

In addition, one thing is worthy to note: that when we make calls, we cannot talk with our personal dissatisfaction. The Chinese people all have very strong patriotism, so we must follow their mentality to clarify the truth to them.
