UK: Practitioners hold a Press Conference and Parade on July 20th to Appeal for an End to the Persecution

(Clearwisdom.net) Whenever I go to the Chinese Embassy in London, I always wipe the display boards clean. When I gently wiped the photos of persecuted practitioners today, I could not help shedding tears. Yes, it has been four years, four long years. It is now time to for this dark period of history to completely finish.

July 20th 2003 marked four years of inhumane brutality against Falun Gong practitioners in China. To remember the millions of innocent practitioners who have suffered for their belief in Truth, Kindness and Endurance, UK practitioners held a press conference in front of the Chinese Embassy in London. They exposed the crimes of Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin and supported the worldwide call to bring him to justice. After the conference, a parade was held in the city centre that went through Chinatown. This attracted a lot of attention and many people stopped to watch and ask for materials.

It was a sunny day in London with a gentle breeze. Many people were practising the exercises or sending forth righteous thoughts when I arrived at the Embassy in the early morning. It has been almost 400 days since the start of the 24-hour peaceful appeal in front of the Chinese Embassy. Whenever I go there, I find new content on the display boards which gives me a different feeling each time. The most eye-catching one today was a series of posters entitled "Falun Dafa in England". One of these posters showed a western practitioner wearing a white Chinese costume and demonstrating the Falun Gong exercises; the peace coming from the bottom of his heart affected many passers-by. One of the posters shows 91-year-old Lord Thurlow stating the feelings of countless other Dafa practitioners: "Falun Dafa gave me a new life!"

Although many UK practitioners went to Washington for the 2003 Washington Falun Dafa Experience Sharing Conference, there were still many practitioners attending our UK activity today. Due to work, some could not participate in the whole activity. However, many practitioners made a special trip to the Embassy; one of them even arrived at 4 o'clock in the morning and left at 7 in the morning. He said that this was definitely a worthwhile journey, even though he only stayed to send forth righteous thoughts for 2 to 3 hours.

We received a lot of positive responses from people in Chinatown. One practitioner said, "When we went to Chinatown, everyone was in a rush to take the Dafa materials. This is very different from what we experienced before. All materials were distributed very quickly."

The glorious sunshine illuminated our bodies and highlighted the continuous flow of Chinese people with smiling faces. One Chinese man said that we were involved in politics so a practitioner approached him to explain the truth and expose the lies of Jiang Zemin. This Chinese man then voluntarily asked for a full set of materials and details of the nearest free exercise class. In this activity, we realised the importance of Master Li encouraging us to hurry up and tell the truth to the people of the world. We believe that the pace of Fa-rectification in England can move even faster with our diligent efforts.
