Clarifying the Truth During the Asia-Europe Economic Ministers' Conference in Dalian, Liaoning Province

The fifth Asia-Europe Economic Minister's Meeting was held on July 22 in Dalian City. The meeting location, the Shangrila Hotel, was heavily guarded, and pedestrians were not allowed to walk on same side of the street that the hotel is on. Several main squares downtown, as well as the main roads to the hotel, were also swarming with policemen.

July 22 is a "sensitive day" to the Jiang regime, who fears public demonstrations the most because this marks the anniversary of the persecution's beginning. The Dalian City Party Committee and Government deployed heavy surveillance to monitor Falun Gong practitioners, especially those who have been released from forced labor camps. The high-ranking officials require that the police substation and street office meet with them twice a day, in the morning and evening. Even so, banners that read, "Falun Dafa is good" and "Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance" were displayed on the barricades in front of the City Party Committee early on the morning of July 23. At the same time, several hundred copies of the latest truth-clarifying materials were sent to the head of the Liaoning Province, the Mayor of Dalian, the City Party Committee, the City Government, the District Party Committee, the District Government, the City Police Station, the District Police Substation officials, all levels of political-judiciary officials, related departments, and all police substations, street offices, and some residential committees.
