Dafa Practitioner Mr. Peng Shiqing Disabled From Severe Beatings by Xiangtan City "610 Office" Agents

On January 18, 2001, Falun Dafa practitioner Peng Shiqing from Xiangtan City, Hunan Province, was abducted by agents of the Xiangtan City "610 Office" [an agency specifically created to persecute Falun Gong, with absolute power over each level of administration in the Party and all other political and judiciary systems]. One winter night, after drenching Peng Shiqing with cold water, he was forced to kneel on the floor for several hours. While he was down, they set one leg of a heavy desk on his foot, a torture that caused him to suffer tremendous pain.

In August 2001, Peng Shiqing walked away from the agents' custody with righteous thought, just as the illegal court trial was starting. However, this escape rendered him unable to return to his home, so he was constantly on the run without food or clothing.

In March 2002, Peng Shiqing was abducted again. After the first trial, Peng Shiqing was thrown into a jailhouse. Following his "interrogation," he was so black and blue all over his swollen body that he had become unrecognizable. In later interrogations, agents of the "610 Office" beat him so badly that they broke one of his legs, which never healed correctly and causes him to walk with a severe limp. Although it has been a year and a half since his detention, Peng Shiqing's family members have been denied visitation, due to fear that the atrocities of the "610 Office" would be exposed.
