Falun Gong Practitioners in the Fangzheng Forest Industry Bureau of Heilongjiang Province Arrested and Persecuted By "610 Office"

Dafa practitioners Ms. Kong Fanyin (33 years old) and Ms. Pang Yinghui (45 years old) from the Fangzheng Forest Industry Bureau in Gaoleng Prefecture of Heilongjiang Province were illegally abducted by policemen Handongyi and Meng Fankun from the National Security Section of the Police Department of Fangzheng Forest Industry in the early morning of July 19, 2003 while handing out truth-clarification materials. They were detained in "Huang's Mansion", the detention center that the "610 Office" set up to persecute Dafa practitioners. The police and staff, transferred from other work units, are guarding the detention center. On July 20, policeman Li Jian interrogated and tortured Ms. Pang Yinghui. He pinched Ms. Pang's neck, kicked her legs, and threatened that he was going to rape her. On the evening of July 20, Han Dongyi, the chief of National Security Section, led Li Tianqiang, Meng Fankun, Zhang Haicheng and several other policemen to illegally enter and ransack Ms. Pan Yinghui's home. Li Tianqiang, a policeman from Gaoleng Prefecture Police Station, used a shovel to dig into Ms. Pang's coal shed and her rooms. Just before they were leaving, Li Tianqiang went back to the room, lifted the bedding and found some CDs and truth-clarification materials. They used these as evidence for continuing the persecution of Ms. Kong Fanying and Ms. Pang Yinghui.

After 5 days in "Huang's Compound," Ms. Kong and Ms. Pang were illegally transferred to the Gaoleng Prefecture Detention Center. During those 5 days Ms. Kong went on hunger strike and was force-fed. The police's initial decision was for 15 days detention, but they did not release them after August 3; instead, they changed the sentence to one-month of detention. Currently Ms. Kong Fanying and Pang Yinghui are on hunger strike to protest the persecution.
